We Miss You Award
Over the years we've had a fairly fluid membership here. People come and people go and in the same way as some additions are more welcome than others, so are some departures. This award is for the member who has left that we miss the most and would love to see come back again. Unlike all the other awards, this one doesn't neccessarily have to go to someone who left this year. If there's a member from GFF's distant past you want back then by all means nominate them. Standard nominations rules apply, as detailed in the rules thread.

I could take the easy road here, but I'll leave the nomination of certain people to other folks.
My nomination goes to Policenaut and Wild Violence. Both former mods, and both very, very fun people to be around. P'naut played a very defining role in shaping the way the gaming forums were moderated, and he had a very welcoming presence in both IRC and around the forums, not to mention being one of the first people I really got to know around here. I can hardly think of anyone else I'd want to return more than him. Vio on the other hand was a more hardened individual, but not without his humorous moments in chat. I hear we lost him to WoW or some other bullshit, which is real depressing. He made some of the best post deletion remarks I've ever read (I put my favorite up on his wiki page). If I can manage to dig a link up through the millions of crashes and backups, I'll edit it in here for all to see. ![]() ~ Maria+Holic ~ Lesbian All Girls School Bullshit Anime #503

Along similar lines, I nominate Talbain. A veteran of GFF, he transcended his spammy beginnings and became not only an estimable member but also a Moderator. Talbain was a frequent participant in GFF events and was one of the most versed in film and television. His "How Well Do You Know Your Movies?" screencap game was enjoyed by many. He was even-tempered and approachable by new and veteran users alike.
Talbain also had some of the best avatars in GFF's history. I hear Talbain eventually wandered away between mounting academic duties and an increased fascination with WoW. He pops up randomly once every six months now but quickly goes into hiding again. I wish he'd stick around again. |

Citizen Solo needs to come back like, you know, NOW. He was one of the most level-headed, friendly and media-oriented cats on the boards and somehow when we made the move from .com to .org he never came with us. It was a sad day in Gamingforce history.

I miss Drex a lot, even though he's been gone for not-as-long as you folks are nominating. He was very community-oriented, and was always kind to everyone he came across, whether or not he agreed with them.

I'm pretty sure everyone saw these nominations coming, but I think Sword Serenity needs to come back, now that all the RW drama has subsided forever. Unless there was something I missed, she was always pretty level-headed and fun to talk to.
Also, Little Yuna because, come on, are you kidding me? She was the same age as tylermoore but somehow managed to post with the best of us, and she added a cuteness factor to the board that I actually miss. Again, unless I missed some time period where she revealed she was actually a 36-year-old man living in his parents' basement with hello kitty bedsheets, it'd be awesome to have her back. ![]()

I nominate tanisari. I very much enjoyed reading her journal, which made quite an impact shown by the awards she won and was nominated for last year.

Harell
He was such a friendly guy and always had something nice to say about the GFF female population in general. I'm not quite sure why he left. Hope it wasn't something I said.

I suppose Bobo if nothing else but because he never really said 'good-bye'. Suppose he felt it was for the best to go out quietly though. He was the one who initially started all this up. I still think of iDrive, hosting files on the server (and the huge bill that came with it), and some of the other episodes involving Bobo (or there lack of, haha).
The othe rperson might be Galatia (SP?). She's been gone for quite a long, long time. When she was around, she was quite friendly and was probably one of the first who was more than willing to get to know ya 'past these boards'. |

Luxo
He came back briefly a few months ago but he hasn't posted since. As far as I know he's busy with stuff IRL. GFF needs moar Mexicans ![]() Careful, He Might Hear You - "The Birthday Party" Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: Composed and Conducted by Ray Cook |

Don't make fun of me for saying this, but I miss Spatula/Scratch and Sniff. I don't have anyone to pick on now.
In all seriousness, he did contribute to the community positively (for the most part) and I'm sure others miss seeing him around. ![]() |

ionuk_tomb . Kinda miss that guy. He had some cool discussions going, and if he was still around he would be in the middle of the firefight over religion. Would have been awesome to see him in action.
