Voting round - Rules and discussion thread

Right kids, time for the voting.

There's not much to rule on really, it's a pretty simple process.

1) You can vote for yourself if you really want.

Personally I think that'd be pretty gay and the gentlemanly thing to do would be to abstain from voting in any categories you're nominated in but I know how much people like clicking buttons and for those of you not on staff, voting would be the only way to see who's winning. Anyhow, if you want to vote for yourself you can but be advised the poll results are public so we'll all know you did it.

2) Polls close in 8 days or so.

Christmas! Yay! I'm not sure if they close exactly 8 days after I made them or what but they'll all close about then so vote early to avoid dissapointment.

3) You can post in the voting threads if you really must.

Let's face it, hardly anyone will bother reading this thread at all, let alone down as far as rule three and I've got better things to do with my time than delete posts in the voting threads so for those of you with an itchy "Post quick reply" finger, by all means tell us who you're voting for rather than wait for us to vote ourselves and look at the poll results. I'd probably rather see any discussion in this thread but like I say, most people are tl;dr'ing by now I imagine.

4) In the event of a tie there'll be an exciting tie-breaker!

Inevitably there'll be at least one tie and we want to see winners! As such, there'll be a brief tiebreaker period after the voting proper closes.

Other than that, feel free to discuss the awards voting and point out any spelling mistakes I made etcetera in here. Enjoy.

A few typos:

Award for Best use of Avatar and Signaure Space
The Media Cantre Award for Worst Taste in TV and Movies
Journal Entry of te Year Award
Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend - "THE RESCUE"
Get the Flash Player to play this audio file:
Composed and Conducted by Jerry Goldsmith
Orchestrations by Arthur Morton

There's two of them and two of us, that works in our favour.

The 'view poll results' option appears in all the threads, even the ones in which I have not voted. I can also see who is winning by signing in as a guest, although I can't see who voted.

I voted for other people in categories I was nominated because, well, the journals are about the only thing I really pay attention to around here.
(edit: enough to vote on, anyway, without it being biased or a total guess.)

Poll results are supposed to be hidden. I just need to tweak the plugin I wrote last year.

Someone should've reminded me

Results should be hidden until you've voted. After that, you can see who voted for whom.

As far as I know, this isn't my fault but feel free to blame me if it makes you feel better.

I see no poll. It's just saying, "Thank you for voting on this poll. The results will be announced shortly!"

I blame you, Shin!

It didn't help...

That would make sense.

Then I blame you, Shin, for giving me false hope!

Still doesn't make me feel better...

Honestly, I think what we did last year in regards to ties was better. I think we had one where 4 people got third place and 2 got second place or something. That was kind of cool. More winners that way. =)

Nothing wrong with sharing a trophy on The Internet! =O

I just want to state again that we really ought to just share places for ties. We did that last year and there was no problem. I happen to like doing it that way and it includes more people which is never a bad thing.
