The latest issue of Newtype Romance, confirms long standing rumors that a new season of Code Geass: Lelouche of the Rebellion will be released in Japan. Although rumored to be due for the fall 2007 season, Newtype Romance makes no mention of when the new season will be released. Source: Anime Online.

The Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion website announced the premiere screenings of Stages 24 and 25, the last episodes of the robot war anime before the planned sequel. Yeah yeah, this was posted a while back, but i saw a bogus Geass 24 on tokyotosho and thought i would let people know, it aint coming out foe a while, so we are just guna have to grin and bare it for a while.

Episode 24 and 25 will premier at Movie theaters in Japan on July 21 and 22nd. Japanese people can "raffle" for it if they buy some magazines and send the raffle ticket in the magazines. Two episodes will be shown together, and the runtime is about 90 minutes.

Yeah i guess we will have to wait until the DVD release... kind of funny if season 2 starts to air before the DVD release... now THAT would suck.

We...Lookin at the Japanese Release, They are releasing a DVD a month, dont quote this because i cant read Japanese, But it looks like they are releasing the DVDs with 3 episodes each, and the 6th dvd is due out next week. donin the math, that puts episode 25 out on dvd 9....so we have 3 more months before we see it it looks like...so yeah looks like unless it airs on TV sometime this summer, the 2nd season will probably start airing before we get to see the end of the first XP

The official website for the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion announced the Japanese broadcast schedule for the Stage 24 & 25 Special, which is the postponed one-hour ending to the 2006 war robot television series. The episode will air on the MBS station on July 28—more precisely, 2:25 a.m. the following morning. It will air on other Japanese stations throughout the following two weeks. The Biglobe video streaming site is also allowing 500 randomly selected users in Japan to view the two episodes for one day between July 25 and 27.

The website had previously announced premiere screening events for the two episodes as well as an greenlit continuation of the story (in an unspecified format).

SO! it looks like we WILL get to see it before season 2 starts! now weather one of those 500 netusers subs in and has it on the net before the accualy showing or not, who knows. but it looks like we will probably have the last 2 episodes of the first season by August

From what I can tell, no one has outright said that they're making a second season of the anime; just a continuation. It could be a second season (I hope it is, too), but it could also be an OVA series, a series of movies, or it could continue in light novel format. Or, like Star Ocean EX, the story could be continued in a series of drama CDs.

According to what happens in episodes 24 and 25, there probably will be a second season. Or at least some type of OVA series.

It has been subbed though, so lucky us we got it before August.

I just have watched the last episode, and gosh, there is no conclusion at all, but seriously, the last two eps pumped all my adrenalin up!

No Geass fans here? Sadness...

Anyway, figured I'd bump this since I didn't see an R2 thread.

We're roughly three weeks away from season 2, and there's a ton of info (BEWARE SPOILERS) here

I'm a big fan of Code Geass (my last avatar before this was of Lelouch actually), and I'm really looking forward to the second season! But there's no way in HELL though I'm gonna look at that site you just posted, because who'd wanna ruin the fun by getting things spoiled at this stage? I'd rather wait.

I bet they're kicking themselves for that one...

Either way, it sounds exciting. The EU was sort of a backdrop existing somewhere on the periphery, so it'll be interesting to see what they're all about, but at the same time I'm disappointed that it'll chip away at the 1984 parallels to see outside perspectives.

Its been so long since I've watched the end of 'season 1' of Geass, I'll probably need to go back and rewatch the end to remember just exactly what the hell happened.

Its also quite convenient that Geass is taking Gundam 00's place (though I'd still much they rather keep these seasons continuous instead of breaking them apart).

Although the biggest thing I took from that spoiler is that

There is another Lelouche sibling who is alive who we're going to meet. I guess he is that baby that their mother was holding when their home was attacked (if memory serves, I could just be making stuff up, or was that Nunnally...). That and certain spoilers point to the possibility that this new sibling (Rollo is allegedly his name) isn't exactly loyal to his blood siblings...

Oh, and one more thing.
And 1 year leap eh? Bradylama, your prediction on the Gundam 00 thread about the season gap also being a time lapse seems incredibly likely.

So I've started to rewatch the first season, and I just noticed something I didn't the last time (why I didn't is a mystery). I was like "Heeeeeey, that Nina girl... SHE DID JUST WHACK IT OFF TO EUPHIE'S PICTURE, DIDN'T SHE D: CAAN'T, UNSEEEEEEEEEE!"

Now I've gotten more disgusted by her than I was in the first place.
