Colorful

How come there's no topic for Colorful on this forum. This must be rectified!

Colorful (adapted from the "Colorful" part of the manga "Wonderful") is an anime all about the day-to-day life of male perverts and their outrageous attempts to catch a glimpse of girls' panties and/or cleavage. The lengths they will go to get their fulfillment, and the inevitable consequences are absolutely hilarious, and the art style is so over the top and crazy that it just defies description.

Each episode is only about 5 minutes long but includes several short stories cut in a high-octane fashion. Random shots of people partying and UFOs landing intersect the longer storyline bits (which are rarely over 1 minute long, anyway).

Episode 1-16.

So yeah, totally check this show out if you have a sense of humour. =D (My current sig/av set is from the show, too.)

Lol I'm definitely checking this out. Does your sig have anything to do with the series ?
Seems that some people were offended with my previous signature. To them, BAHAHA crybabies these boards should be 18+.

And don't worry, there's a new even better one coming.
This signature isn't breaking any rules, so stop reporting it. -GFF Signature Police

I really liked this series. The scene with the two guys in the shoe store with the mirror was hilarious.

Definitely one of my favorite parts of the series. But my all-time favorite is the "pants shopping" bit. Pure Genius. "Konnichi-wa!"

I misread the ANN thing: Wonderful is a TV show, not a manga. They had shows such as Digi Charat and Iketeru Futari among others. Seems to be a pretty interesting thing. I do wonder if there's a manga/magazine equivalent of it though, because I'm quite sure I read that somewhere...

Anyway, more info about "Wonderful" from ANN.

I saw this when it was on G4, and I must say that this show is absolutely brillant! To pervs like me, anyway. Definitely one of the funniest animes I've seen in a while, because it's just so quirky. I might actually buy the DVD of this, even though I usually don't buy DVDs of anime shows that I've seen already.

Haha, I just finished downloading and watching the first four episodes. The premise is so ridiculous, but it works out nicely. Too bad that opening theme cuts away a good chunk of the 6'30'' running time. =(

Haha yeah! That's why I said episodes are only 5 minutes cause really, 1 minute is lost by the opening. It's too bad cause 1 minute is about all they need to tell one story, so we miss 16 more potential stories.

Has anyone checked out the manga version? I haven't yet but I'm really interested in it.

Haha, man, episode 15 was pretty funny at the end. Anywho, that was really quick. All the random junk kinda annoyed me though.

I remember buying this in 2003, it was probably one of my DVD's that I thought I got my money's worth.

(like Azumanga) I want to make a bunch of animated gifs whenever I can get the time.

I finished all the episodes already.

This was a fun, quirky little series. Sometimes the random bits felt a little too long, but overall it was quite good. I like how they kept returning to the same people as well -- my favorite had to be the sports teacher, though there were lots of other good ones (the shoe store clerks, the A Prize and B Prize). The background music, though short, was also surprisingly good.

Now to see if the manga can be hunted down somewhere...

I think Prize A and B was my favorite part.
Spoiler:
In the end when he comes back to Prize B and hugs it, just the expression on his face, priceless lol

The shoe store one also made me actually laugh out loud.

Also.......... E.T. PHONE HOME!!!!!!!

Isn't this the same series as Ebichu? I heard that 3 series with similars themes were released and this one looks like one of those. I'll check it out, looks interesting.

If this show was the same it would have been directed by Hedeki Anno and would have been premiered on Anime no Ai Awa Awa Awa which was broadcasted on TV Toyko, not TBS in which Colorful was aired.

Hee hee, I've been looking for a torrent for this forever, ever since I saw it at the not-so-hentai hentai panel at PortconMaine last year. Many thanks, I have a friend who'll get a kick out of this.
Will they!?
