Recommend me some Anime!

Now, I know what most people are thinking right off the bat here: Is this man blind? Does he not see the Recommendation thread right at the top of the page? Well, I did, and I read it, and to be honest, didn't get much out of it. It didn't get past one page and, while I am interested in Wolf's Rain and Witch Hunter Robin, I'd like some more recommendations than just that. It appears the thread has been dead for some time, which has led me to create this new one. If the moderation team demands it, I feel this thread should be the spark to be a new general recommendation thread, since the old one is dead.

Personally, my tastes lean toward action shows. My favorite anime is Berserk, and other major favorites include Hellsing and (Perrenial favorite) Cowboy Bebop. I'm pretty open minded though, and have enjoyed shows somewhat more varied than that (The most "out there" shows I've watched are easily Excel Saga and Beat-to-Death Angel Dokuro-Chan), but any recommendations in my core group of favorites is greatly appreciated.

The following is a list of the anime I have seen in order to discourage redundant recommendations of them.

Berserk, Hellsing, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Escaflowne, Lain, Gungrave, Texhnolize, .hack//SIGN, Last Exile, Outlaw Star, Dragonball Z, FLCL, Excel Saga, 'Now and Then, Here and There', and Dokuro-Chan.

I have already been recommended Wolf's Rain and Witch Hunter Robin, so I request that they not be repeated here as well.

I'd like to say again that I'm very open minded and I'm willing to consider just about anything within reason (I'm not open minded enough to consider most "girly" anime, I'm sorry.) I assure you that I have not seen any anime not mentioned here already, no matter how well-known it might be, so feel free to recommend.

Well, you kind of answered it yourself, I guess. We have stated before in threads past that the recommendations thread will only be as useful as people make it -- without new posts, it's not really going to go anywhere (as you have pointed out). However, that's not really a reason to divide the attention more. Let's stick with one thread that we can all easily keep track of.
