I've been working my way through Rurouni Kenshin lately and there are some pretty sweet fight scenes in that (episode 30 was awesome). It is however a very different style to the dragonballz style fights that seem to go on and on until something drastic happens and someone reaches a new, higher level. I also liked dragonballz but I haven't found anything that has that same sort of style. Bleach is close and I haven't seen Naruto

Something like DB series huh? Kinda hard cause no one can ever do it like them. They can.. they just don't wanna bite. There's Hokuto no Ken and definately a kick ass underrated anime Yu Yu Hakusho. Give those two a try (but look in YYH more ;p )

OH yeh I totally forgot about Yu Yu Hakusho. I'd recommend that too, if you like dbz than you will probably like YYH

If you like sword fighting, a lot of samurai period anime will give you that dose. I like Kenshin myself. Samurai Champloo also has a lot of kick ass fight scenes.

Sword fighting? You might like Utawarerumono even though that has a lot of people fighting with swords, with some exceptional members wielding their blades in different ways, like Karura who merely needs to flail it once.

Fate Stay Night has battles between the servants, with the main servant, Saber (obviously wielding a sword), getting a lot of the spotlight. She has a one-on-one duel with another swordsman if that catches your fancy.

well it depend of what style of fight we talk for example some of my favorite fight that the character used sword or with any other weapon "Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto", "Basilisk Kouga Ninpou Chou", etc.

For other kind of fight maybe "Mai Otome" those fight was amazing the fight time that I saw it xD.

Noein had some nicely done fighting scenes because everything moved so smoothly especially the one with karasu and fukuro. It looked like they ripped it out straight from a manga.

FLCL had fights that were so crazy and funny and whats a better weapon than an electric guitar.

Other animes which have great action are Samurai Champloo for the awesome hip hop sword fighting.
Black Lagoon for the crazy gun play and the badass girls.

New Record!

You want some badass awesome fights? Go watch Airmaster. Bliss.

One Piece has some pretty sweet battles as well. You should just watch One Piece anyways. It's fun for just about anyone.

It's not anime, but Avatar has some nice fights - when they happen anyway.

Like Acer said, One Piece also has some nice fights, but I think Bleach's and Naruto's (the first 100 or so episodes) are more enjoyable.

Actually, just look up Shounen Jump and take your pick.
