Welcome to the Gamingforce Interactive Forums.
GFF is a hellhole full of elitists who chat about everything EXCEPT games. We have a team of dedicated moderators who will ban your ass on the slightest provocation, constant member-organized activities that you are not allowed to participate in, and plenty of custom features, including our unique journal system where you can post entries that will be completely ignored. If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ or our GFWiki. You will have to register before you can post. Although membership is completely free (and gets rid of the pesky advertisement unit underneath this message) we do not recommend that you sign up, because you will get kicked in the nuts repeatedly.

Hmm, but lots of people (including myself) will finally edit their post to add the download link, which shouldn´t throw them out of queue. But we should also take into consideration, that it´s hard to notice slight changes that go hand in hand with valid edits.
Assuming Orion is handling the track gathering, you could just PM him the upload link.

As for weeding out duplicates by edit, frankly, people should be paying closer attention. They can be hard to catch; I accidentally nominated something isdapi had and quickly edited my own list. But if you don't catch it or do so way later, I don't see any reason that shouldn't be on your own head, particularly when all nominators are generally quick to and generous enough to point out duplications.

01. (no album) <mv> - Time Chill
08. (no album) <housethegrate> - La Hora es Tarde
Heh, those were two of my definite picks (with Time Chill being my #1 too). Nice to see you get involved with this.
Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):

Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?
Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros.

Currently playing: Geometry Wars Evolved 2 (XBLA), Half-Life 2: Episode Two (360)

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

I was quite surprised to find out Time Chill wasn't yet selected by anyone after 200+ nominations. I haven't been around much lately but I'm looking forward to this event and hopefully I'll be able to participate when it does start.

Less about the contest, more about doujin as a whole.

We have OCRemix here and VGMix before and OneUp Studios and PMM and so on in our Western hemisphere. So how do people know about all these Japanese doujin groups and remixers? Are there central hubs like OCRemix? What's the best way for a quickie introduction?

Yeah, I'd like to know if there's a good English website that covers doujin works. I know there are Japanese websites with databases, but I've never seen a link to an English one.

I was all set to swap out Save Me (already nominated by Elorin) with Frame of Mind, but el Jacko beat me to the bunch. Time to move stuff up and throw in a track to the 10 spot.

VGMdb also covers doujins. =)

Is there a limit as to how long a nominated track can run? I've got a monster that I wanted to initially nominate but it's 17 minutes long. Still, every time I listen to it, it blows my mind.

Part of me wants to put it up but part of me wonders if people would bother listening to the whole thing.

Just remember you'll immediately lose the votes of people that are stuck on dial-up.

No limit. Are you talking about "The Games We Played?" I don't remember exactly how long that is, but I seem to recall it being around that long.

Actually, it's "Knucklebusters (PSX Music2000 Edit)" by tomsk. It's another kwed.org pick.

If we'd gone the "arranged song" contest route, you know someone would have nominated "Secret of Mana +"

I don't have any problem with long nominations though.

Is Rapidshare or other similar sites the best place for upload, or can someone suggest a sensible alternative?

Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire is probably the only free storage site that works for me. People have reported problems with uploading, but if it's a small file it should be alright.

I'll post the questionable noms here; it would be best to take care of them sooner rather than later.

01. GamingForce Forums <falkon2> - One Winged Hutt (Final Fantasy VII - "One-Winged Angel"; Tecmo Bowl - [Track 2], [Track 3], [Track 41], [don't know])
This is the (extremely) humorous sped up version of OWA with Tecmo Bowl commentator audio and music mixed in. It was made by a member of GFF (falkon2) back when BSC 04 was going. So far, 2 people (including Dhsu) say it should be eligible, and 2 people say it shouldn't.

3. remix.kwed.org - Art & Music Compo 3 (Hazel)
Liontamer says it's a SID demo arrangement and not a game music arrangement. So if that's so, this is more of a definite disqualification rather than questionable nom.

I guess that's it for now then. Just One Winged Hut really.

REMINDER: You have until the end of today, 12/3, to make nominations. If you haven't done so already (or you want to make changes), be sure to do it before the day's over.

Does anyone else have a strong opinion on One-Winged Hutt? It's a tie at the moment, and I'll let it in by default if it remains thus (against my own wishes, but such is life).
