Regarding stickies in the VG Forum

I'm not sure why, for example, Brady's Iron Man Fallout thread is both stickied and announced. Seems kinda redundant. The announcement for community participation purposes is great, and I love the idea, but I'm not sure if it needs to be stickied up there next to the rules threads.

Also of a thought, if we will be putting specific game threads up there, why not put some of the highest traffic threads up there, so they are easy to find and don't push down other threads? The two I'm talking about for the most part here are the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Official Playstation 3 threads, which are some of the gaming forum's largest and most popular.

This isn't so much a problem as a suggestion I'm making, I guess. Feel free to ignore as such.
I agree with this notion.

I did wonder why Brady's thread was both a sticky and a announcement, but for some reason I forgot what I was thinking about and never remembered it again.

I agree, although I wonder if the threads will eventually be removed from their sticky status if they die out or linger around because they are full of good information =o

If a thread is a sticky then won't it always be pushing other threads down the page instead of just when it's been posted in?

Not if there is a total thread per page count that doesn't include stickies. Visually yes it will, but per page, no.

Brady's thread is an announcement so as to attract the attention of posters from outside of the gaming forums. It's important because Brady made it that way before it was announcemented and also because people like me are too lasy to go looking for it once it drops off the front page.

Given the current posting rate in the gaming section, is there really anything decent that's been posted in in the last four days or so falling off the front page?

I'm not seeing why I should sticky Pokemon and PS3 threads in Video Gaming any more than I should sticky Naruto and Gundam threads when they were ridiculously popular in Animespot.

I suppose we could desticky Brady's thread but I honestly don't care as Shin said it's not like that forum's activity is doing the wave.
