... so I'm an inveterate searcher.

Will it create too much server strain to reduce the search intervals to, say, 10 or even 5 seconds?

I would be pleased with a 10 second search for those times I accidentally type in the wrong user name when searching for my posts due to the auto-suggest. I just wonder if the 15 second thing really does deter bots/spammers. Not a long stretch of time by many means, but it sure feels long if you just sit and wait :s
