ImageShack hotlinking

Does anyone have any idea why ImageShack has apparently blocked hotlinking from GFF? A whole bunch of signatures are now broken because they've been replaced by that ugly-ass frog.

I'm going to accuse pom of it not because I actually think it's his fault but I know someone else will so I want to look funny and original

I think ImageShack may be under going some maintenance work.
My signature is hot-linked from ImageShack, and hasn't been affected.
Oh no...!!!

It's not only GFF, I have seen block imageshack hotlinks in other message boards as well. Let's hope that Domino is right and it will work again very soon.

It usually happens when a server takes up too much bandwidth from ImageShack. Not sure about why it affects only certain sigs, though.

It works. I don't get why people don't just use ChocoSig, though.

Because it doesn't work sometimes (?)

I mean, come on, this is like the typical "I don't get why people don't just use Firefocks" to the typical "Opera crashed while I was watching porn pixx what is worng" question

Haven't been to this thread in a bit, but neither of you are helping.

Oops, if I'd read one more post I would've realized Mush already said that.

By that same logic I should just ask why don't all you people just pay for your own webhosting so you don't have to leech bandwidth, and I'd be just as helpful as you.

It would also make me a hypocrite because I have my own hosting and I still use imageshack/socket.

Uh, well dude, I'm sorry if you feel so, but this is not ImageShack's tech-support forum. How can we help you if some external site is having random downtimes? Telling to use ChocoSig is a valid suggestion, since the problem could easily be avoided by doing that.

The question was not about ImageShack's downtime problems, I was wondering why, according to the replacement image, loading from THIS DOMAIN was blocked. It was blocking GFF pictures for a little while.

Yeah, but, as you said, only some images were affected, so apparently our domain wasn't really blocked; probably, there was just some maintenance work going on, or some other problems on Shack's end.

That's what I made the thread to find out about, though. Recommending Imagebucket 5.0 or whatever doesn't help answer my original question. Like Mush said, it's akin to going into a thread about IE and saying "Use Firefox".

Anyway, the question has been answered, I'm going to save the mods the trouble and close this.
