[SOLVED] Um, I'd like a swift and bloody revolution, please.

When I am using the Quick Reply PM feature, my messages are broken.
The quick-reply message itself is sent fine, but none of my text is sent with it.

Anything I type below the
blah blah blah
shows up as single blank line to the receiver. The quoted text (from the person that has PMd me) is sent fine, but my reply is just not there.

I can, however, send regular PMs and they are seen by the receiver.
This has been happening for a while now, actually. It's rather annoying to send a new PM each time I want to reply to a PM.

I am using Firefox 1.5.0.4, and NoScript is (unfortunately) not yet installed.

I experienced this too. I thought it's only me. Maybe this is a bug?

You all think you got good deals, huh? Ha! You frugal and observant shoppers have more to learn.

None of that approaches this:

Allow me to share a track from this CD. Here ya go.
I think he should have paid you .01¢ instead.

I experienced this as well.

This picture of a My Little Pony represents my failure to review the Mix CD that was sent to me. Like this image, I am a shining beacon of shame and disgrace.

Do you guys have Javascript disabled? The quick reply uses AJAX which needs Javascript.

Javascript is enabled. It does send a message, but the message is just the quote with no replying text.

JavaScript is enabled. As I've mentioned, NoScript isn't installed.

But here's a random thought - how about I update my JRE? That might be causing it. (Or even download the entire Java SDK.)
I'll edit this if it works.

It could be some conflicting plugin. I'll look into this, if I recall correctly some people were having this same problem on the vB.org forums.

I have JRE 1.5.0 Update 7 (the latest from java.sun.com) and the problem still persists.

Even clicking on the Preview Message button breaks the message. I see the quoted part all right, but none of my text shows up in the previewed message above.

I'll try uninstalling all my Firefox extensions. I'll edit this with the results.

Double Post:
I believe Mr. Blah is correct in his reckoning of the Firefox extensions. I've uninstaled the lot of them:

.. and the problem seems to be fixed. (I've not tinkered with anything else after uninstalling the extensions.)
At least, I can preview my message fine. I've sent a message to Radez, so I should have an absolute answer sometime today.

One of those above is causing the Ajax in Quick Reply to go berserk.

Edit: It is definitive. Radez read my quick reply, and it works. One of the above-printscreened extensions is causing the problem. My guess is AdBlock, but it really could be any of them.

Wrong. It is still happening, and just as annoying.

Obviously, since Java and JavaScript are two different things.

*coughs*
Still not fixed, and still not caused by any firefox extensions.
All of mine are uninstalled, and sometimes it randomly does quickreply correctly, but more often than not, it doesn't.

Well, I have all those extensions yet I haven't had a problem with my PMs (Firefox 1.5.0.4 too)

Could you send me a PM to see if it works? The only extension I don't have from your list is MenuEditor, so I guess it could be something concerning that.

Yes, because people are going to switch to a different browser just because of one minor bug on a site.

Because the majority of users on here don't already use Firefox.

I didn't say to change the browser, i just say to test with another one and if it work, now you know that it's firefow the problem and can start digging with the extensions and anything else (it would have just save a little time that,s all I wanted to say)

Inhert does have a point. It just ... never occured to me to resort to a browser so archaic to do, well, anything.
But regardless, it has been tested with Internet Explorer 6.029... and the problem persists.
If anyone feels like downloading/installing and testing with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, well, good luck to ya!

Alright, I just uninstalled the quickreply plugin and implemented an alternate version. Let me know if the problem persists.

Mr. Blah is a hero amongst men.
The feature has been tested with Internet Explorer and Firefox and works like a charm.
Let me be the first to express my sincere gratitude.

Can mere mortals hope to be enlightened as to what ethereal magics were employed in the process of ridding us of this nuisance?

The old version used a custom template to generate the quick reply box, and some people had problems with it espe
