Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Command and Conquer's style simply doesn't appeal to me; it's not the sort of music that I normally run into, so I don't pretend to think I'm qualified to judge it in any way... but it doesn't please me aurally, so it's out.

Eerie Forest wins by default, but luckily it's a pretty cool little track to boot.

Hell March. One of the first PC tunes to make me go HOLY WOW back in the 90's. It just picks you up, kicks your ass and then sets you down for an electronic exploration of its themes. BANG YOUR HEAD. DO IT NOW. And then let the marching carry you off. This will probably fail because apparently people have a problem with songs kicking their ass.

Eerie Forest is not horrible . . . it just takes a minute to get out of the intro. By that time Hell March has made you its bitch.

Oh man. Hell March. This song is definitely a Klepacki Classic. I forward it.

Eerie forest doesn't seem all that eerie to me...I guess I'd have to play the game in order to get the feel of that one because this song sounds more like you're sneaking around in the forest and making some stealth kills against those trying to chase you.

While I may not be a fan of long songs, Hell March is an exception and is the only track I listened to while I played Red Alert. Uncheck the rest of the songs in the list, set Hell March to repeat, and build your tesla coils.

For the most part, I agree with what wvlf said. Klepacki kicks ass, Hell March gets the vote.

Both of these songs are equally bad for completely different reasons.

Hell March is more of a personal distaste for heavy guitars. Just can't stand 'em.

I also find Eerie Forest spends way too long in its intro and then completely underwhelms once it leaves the intro.

It's at least listenable, though, so it gets my vote. :/

Hell March: This is quite awesome if you ask me. Love the march riff and the electric guitars really exude this power that sucks me in. Great stuff.

Eerie Forest: I'm not a big fan of this one. Aside from the long intro, the remainder of the piece doesn't really deliver anything spectacular. It's got a fairly decent melody, but nothing else that soars over its competition.

Vote for Hell March.

I really loved C&C, but the music has to be my least favorite part about the game. I actually switched it off (which I almost never do) because it annoyed me so much. It always sounds so hollow and just... I don't know, lifeless? This is one of the better tracks, which isn't saying much, since it still goes nowhere and takes a really long time to do so.

Eerie Forest starts out sounding like an 80s ballad. Too bad it's not! I guess that's okay though, it still manages to be better than Hell March.

For Hell March, I thought it would be the same old military style of music that I usually hate, but the electric guitar riffs held my interest long enough. Eerie Forest was not very eerie at all and it sounds too retro for my tastes with the instrumentation.

I'm diggin' Hell March at 5:00+... and almost all of Eerie Forest!

I'll vote for the Forest, but I won't mind either going on

Not going to comment on any specific sections of "Hell March", but I was really impressed with the overall performance. It took my ears by surprise at first and never lost their attention throughout. For a marching, militaristic theme, this one's remarkably good.

"Eerie Forest" doesn't strike me as particularly eerie, but it's still pretty good. The percussion's solid, and the melody is weird but effective in its different phases. Good, but it doesn't beat the endeavours of the first for me.

Command & Conquer Red Alert - Hell March
C&C music just does nothing for me. This is no exception; the music was a huge part of why I couldn't get into the games. If you like the same stale chords over and over again for hours on end, step right up.

Shadow of the Beast - Eerie Forest
Not eerie at all. But it has a melody and some nice instrumental effects; granted, that's kind of like saying a new model of car features "wheels" and "doors," but here we are.

hell march-
some good chunky riffing, but a strong melody never really appeared. Cool breakdown later on, but this is total BGM.

eerie forest-
Way to be an inspirational power ballad. I actually like the song a lot, but the title completely does not fit. Titles don't matter when it comes to voting though.

I remember Hell march from the game, but it never inspired me to listen to it outside. Fairly standard heavy rock, but at least it's not standard military music.

I actually quite enjoyed eerie forest, could have done with being a bit more eerie but I can live with that.

Eerie forst it is.

: Command & Conquer Red Alert - Hell March
: Shadow of the Beast - Eerie Forest

I keep waiting for something to happen in Eerie Forest, keep waiting, and oh, something different! Wait, it's because the song finished.

Actually, I can say the same thing about Hell March, with the riffing and drums that get really annoying. But then the second half hits and I start paying attention to it again.

Kind of.

Hell march kicked my ass and left me no choice but to bang my head. Eerie Forest did not do this. Therefore, I did not vote for it.

'Eerie Forest' - I agree that it falls far short of being "eerie" or even remotely "forest"-like. In fact, it falls short of being good music in any way. The intro promises way more than the rest of the song delivers. Any drama that is developed is instantly defused by some kind of lousy cadence.

'Hell March' - Good lord, not another shitty 12/8 post-grunge/metal song, replete with marching feet and a drill-sergeant barking orders. Just because it can be head-banged to doesn't mean it's a decent song. And what do we have at the 4:00 mark. A nice dollop of stock techno that could have been made by anybody. Not memorable at all. How does this count as one song anyway.

Both of these tunes are trash, but 'Eerie Forest' is far less offensive.

I like how it's "post-grunge/metal" when it was written back in 1996 and most of the so-called "grunge" bands (none of the famous ones really fit the label) were still making albums. It was actually really relevant when it was written. Oh, and it kicks your ass.
