vs. ? Oh come on. I mean, PAL (仙劍奇俠傳) - Rain started interesting, but all in all listening to it was just boring. Apart from this, I should really download the Jets 'n' Guns soundtrack some day. Awesome stuff. 1st: Jets 'n' Guns - Shop Music 2nd: PAL (仙劍奇俠傳) - Rain ![]() [SCHWARZE 4 - Sepp Bonhof] ![]() |
Also shit. Fuck. FUCK. I had it all set out. I was typing "Shop Music, no question" and all prepared to vote for it without hesitation, but Rain is actually pretty god damn beautiful. It's moody, pretty, dramatic and very smart. GOD DAMNIT. This might well be my most difficult choice so far, as Shop Music is spectacular, I like it far better than FanVaCoolt. NNGH. I have to come back to vote later, after a few more listens and maybe voting in the other matchups first ![]() EDIT: Ok, so I went with Rain. I'm not even going to wonder why now that's it's done. Gonna listen to both far beyond contest time. |

There's an enchanting quality about Rain. It's not going to win awards for innovation but it's not offensive in the slightest. I could probably set this to repeat and comfortably fall asleep on restless nights. (That's a good thing.)
Jets 'n' Guns, however, is pretty kickass. The rockin' is more my style and has a good energy that'd perk me up during the mid-day slump. I like the fact that it's aggressive but not dominating; it takes the time to soften up with some intriguing ambience. I declare this track the first true contender. AWESOME. |
|
Shop Music is really good, and if pitted against most other tracks, I would've voted for it without much hesitation.
But I love Rain too much, after listening to it 11 years ago for the first time. The cascading, layered melody is just beautiful. |
|
Rain is unexpectedly awesome! I want both tracks to advance.
![]() I'm gonna vote for... Rain. |
|
The melody to Rain is dead beautiful. It's very simple, but achieves a lot.
Shop Music is realy good in a different beautiful way. That makes it a very hard choice. I end up going for Shop Music as well. And whats up with the fact that its Shop Music? =P |
|
I've got access to the tracks now. Thanks!
I wasn't sure what to expect from PAL (仙劍奇俠傳) — Rain given its rather, ah, untranslated name. It's a nice little synth piece, a little dry, but competently done. The competition is certainly busier; Jets 'n' Guns — Shop Music is frentic techno and rock. I found it to be a bit much, though--there are some great little interludes, but the rest of the track is too much of an aural assault to be completely enjoyable. Close call, but I think I'll go with Rain for the time being. ![]() From goop we came, to goop we return.

Shop Music is great. Like instant classic great. The best track in the contest I've heard by far. Great beat, strong rhythm, and judicious use of the hair metal guitar to boot.
It's a shame that Rain is a moody little gem as well. It deserved a better matchup. |
|
So one of these gems has to be elimated here, where either Fading Light of the Sealed or Suteki da ne is guaranteed to move on. Life just isn't freaking fair sometimes, y'know?
I'll vote for Rain, because it's a nice blend of quality melody with unoppressive instrumentation. I hope it kicks the crap out of Megalith. EDIT: Dang. Well, then I hope J'n'G does. DAMN good coffee!

Wow, both of these rock, in different ways.
Rain is a beautiful melodical tune with good synth and intrument lines, me likes. Nothing bad to say here, just good, solid music. Shop music is neat, very neat. Darn well neat, and it could do well, this was a tough one not to enjoy. Darn tough choice, but I'll vote for rain. |
Rain is a pleasant listen, but after it's over, I can hardly recall it. Shop Music is just too much of a wall for it to climb. ![]() |
|
Mmm, strangely enough, the terribly catchy sound of Shop Music wins over the "cute but zzzz" for me.
|
|
Man oh man. And I thought Phon Coast vs Avenging Battle was a close call.
This is supremely difficult to decide my vote, because both songs are utterly amazing. Instant entrance to my top-rated itunes songs for both of them, an honor previously given only to FanVaColt. Wow. I think I'll have to go with Shop Music, but it breaks my heart to not be able to vote for both. |
|
While it's a sedative track, the lack of substance is what causes "Rain" to be nothing more than a light drizzle.
On the other hand, "Shop music" is just WOW. After everything I've heard from Jets 'n' Guns so far, I need to download the soundtrack ASAP. Where can I find it?

088 PAL (仙劍奇俠傳) — Rain
169 Jets 'n' Guns — Shop Music Shop Music is cool, that's almost semi techno, props to whoever nominated it. Rain is not awesome at all, very boring, dunno why I should vote for this one. ![]() Shushkevich sued the Belarusian Ministry of Labor and Social Security: due to inflation, his retirement pension as a former head of state was the equivalent of one dollar and 80 cents monthly. |
