C005 - Mein Herz Brennt vs Nemurenu Yoru
Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt (Download it!) Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: VS Off Course - Nemurenu Yoru (Download it!) Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: We can die heroically, comically, ironically, sadly, suddenly, slowly, disgustingly, charmingly or from a great height.

My reaction upon hearing Rammstein: "Heh, olympic swimmer. Funny."
My reaction on hearing Meureno Yoru: " " |

Nemurenu Yoru doesn't sound too far off from having been included on The Lost in Translation soundtrack, so I guess I can get behind it. The wonky synth at the beginning could go, but it's ok otherwise.
Rammstein is just ridiculously cheesy and awful. |
|
Really? The wonky synth at the beginning was the only part that didn't make me want to stab my eardrums out with needlenose pliers. Rammstein gets my vote for being a tiny bit less shitty. A tiny bit.

I think this is the first time I've ever listened to a Rammstein tune all the way through, I prefer Laibach to be honest. That said, I'm with the consensus opinion here that the other tune is worse and needs to progress no further.

I was expecting a bad reception, but I am very impressed.
On the other hand, Rammstein is beyond the sort of music I would enjoy. |

Rammstein have always been a bit too much for me. This track is no exception, but i will say it was above average for a Rammstein. Ok I'll admit it, i'm pretty sure the only other song by them i've heard is Du Hast. This was better than that, but not far and away. The vocals suck balls.
I'm not stark raving over Nemurenu either, but i'll take it over the Rammstein at this point. I'm not really sure why it's getting torn to shreds here; it's good for 'pleasant' music.
Music is a mysterious thing. Sometimes it makes people remember things they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories... things almost forgotten... Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember or not.

Nemurenu Yoru actually reminds me a lot of a Spanish group called Mocedades that my mom listened to a lot when I was growing up. Having said that this is a horrible pairing and there are FAR better Rammstein songs to choose from so I guess I'll go with the underdog here.

I wasn't too particularly fond of Mein Herz Brennt. A bit cheesy, maybe? Anyways, I didn't think Nemurenu was that bad, so I'm voting for it.
