On Your Way... yeah, you just keep thinking you can create good music, Otani.
Hey, Another Story, a cutesy vocal I enjoy. Though, this just might be an illusion as a result of listening to the Kow Otani track I suppose. If it was just the vocal, guitar, and choral pads at the beginning until 0:16, it would've been great. Right now, it's more than good enough to beat On Your Way, which isn't saying much. EDIT: huh |

Kow Otani... That name sounds familiar. Anyway, despite this being fairly generic orchestral wankery, it's not too bad. It has spunk and doesn't sound like film music, instead sounding like ballet or something. That's a good thing!

'Another Story' - This song had a charming flavor and decent arrangement through and through, but I would have preferred to hear it with two wooden flutes instead of two adorable Japanese cartoon mice. There was also an instrumental break that made it sound like it was segueing into 'Joy to the World,' tubular bells and all. Altogether, this isn't that bad.
'On Your Way' - This sounds like it's trying to sound like a whole bunch of other composers' works and comes across as being very generic and uninspired-sounding. It brims over with cliched ideas from every RPG soundtrack I've heard since the SNES era. I liked the part in the middle where the piano and percussion took center stage, but then it just shifts direction into derivative-land again. The mice get my vote.

Uh, no. This should be banned under the Geneva Convention as earcrime. Sky Odyssey - On Your Way So Kow Otani has done other stuff, eh? It's not the most distinctive sound in the world, but I liked the melody and there was some nice development. On Your Way.

"Another Story" isn't one of my favourites from Hermina and Culus, but it's still ok for a kawaii vocal track. The singer has a seriously high register which does wonders at establishing a light, cheery mood; as for whether you can appreciate said vocals and mood is another thing entirely. Oh well, the vocals are ok to my ears and the backing track is good; the Christmas stuff going on at 1:15 makes me smile also.
 "On Your Way" was bo0ooring for about 80% of its duration. The quieter interludes such as 2:22 piqued my interest, but the rest was just dull, pompous orchestral blandness. "Another Story" - 7.5/10 "On Your Way" - 3.5/10 |

This is back from when Gust used composers I can stand, excellent. The pizzicato strings are fairly lame but the rest is good enough.  |

I don't how 21 people have voted against this japanese vocal. I thought it was one of the best if not the top japanese pop track I have ever heard. Instrumentation is infectious as well. I don't understand. Well other than the fact that more people dislike foreign vocals than anything else.
