Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros. Currently playing: Nothing Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more What else do I listen to? |

Whoa what a battle this one is.
"Into the Thick of It" is pure classic Kikuta, ie rather good music. Not gonna go into the details 'cause it's a surprisingly complex piece, but I really like it, and have had in embedded into my brain fibers ever since I first heard it. A good'un~ But "THE LIBERATION OF GRACEMERIA" tops it and then some. Awesome, mood-setting buildup; finely produced and appropriately dramatic transition; outstanding orchestral climax. Emphasis on the outstanding orchestral climax. This track deserves a final 8 appearance. "Into the Thick of It" - 8.5/10 "THE LIBERATION OF GRACEMERIA" - 9.5/10 ![]() |

Uhh, seems like I made a mistake there, if one of the moderators would move it to "THE LIBERATION OF GRACEMERIA", I'd be very thankful.

|
![]() At the moment, it doesn't look like it'll make any difference in the end though... |

All of my nominations have been knocked out, including 2 SD3 songs. But by gum, I'm going to try my darndnest best to see a Mana song go as far as it possibly can!

A pretty good Mana track and an OK Ace Combat song that takes too long to get anywhere (granted, when it gets there, the getting's GOOD.)
Gonna go with Mana. |

So who is going to win here? The one with the most voters or the one with the most votes?
Obviously Gracemeria, very cool song... |
|
The buildup in Gracemeria really loses my interest about halfway through. The "climax," as it were, is definitely engaging, but is it worth all the buildup? I don't know.
On the other hand, Into the Thick of It is just "okay" in my book. I think SD3's soundtrack is superior to SoM's, and I've yet to be truly impressed with any of the latter's tracks this year. Think I might have to abstain from this one. Both are good songs with noticeable flaws. |

Ace Combat track. Don't be surprised folks.

Hey now, I've never played an Ace Combat game in my entire life, and I still love gracemeria. A vote for an Ace Combat tune doesn't always have to have a fanatical/enthusiastic basis; I just think it's a damn good piece of music, and I'm sure many others feel the same way.
