Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros. Currently playing: Nothing Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more What else do I listen to? |

I like this idea of streaming music in the threads.
Anyways, both of these songs seem to be kind of chill out music, I guess. I can't think of a better way to describe what it is I see in common with these. Lagoon 2 gets into a bit of a groove as it goes along though, and throws in some really great rhythms that win me over. ![]() |

Lagoon was all interesting rhythm and nothing else against an utterly memorable track last round, while Peach Blossom Dream's gotten my vote each round.

Goddammit, I voted against both of these. Well, in review, I'm not that upset about a song beating SMB3's Grassland tune. The thing was like 10 seconds long, after all.
Lagoon 2 is almost entirely about the base beat, although what's there is nice to listen too. I somehow found Chinese Paladin's melody grating in addition to being uninteresting. Didn't like it before, don't like it now. ![]() |

Something about the soothing nature of Peach Blossom really appeals to me. The melody is quite nice too. It's been one of my favorites in this contest since the Preliminaries. Lagoon 2 is way too static and repetitive for my tastes as well. Chinese Paladin gets my vote easily here.

There haven't been a lot of slower tunes making it to Round 2. The fact that Chinese Paladin (Adlib) - Peach Blossom Dream is one sort of boggles the mind, considering how dull the melody is. It's soft, yes, but also workmanlike and devoid of any emotional resonance for me.
Fury of the Furries (Adlib) - Lagoon 2, as has been pointed out, is all rhythm and hilariously bad name. Just as boring, if not moreso, than its slower competitor. In the Battle of the Banal, Chinese Paladin wins by a nose and gets my vote. ![]() From goop we came, to goop we return.

Yeah, I admire "Peach Blossom Dream" for still being in this contest . It's a subtle piece, which isn't a common occurrence in these contests; "Lagoon 2" has a nice melody but compared to its opponent here it seems just so...standard.

Fury of the Furries - Lagoon 2 - 14th best song of bracket D
Chinese Paladin - Peach Blossom Dream - 20th best song of bracket D Is Peach Blossom Dream fairly good mood music? Yes. To the extent some people have made it out to be? Nah. Lagoon's got the beat. Doesn't have too much more than that but it's good enough here. ![]() |

They're both decent songs. I prefer Lagoon 2, though. Gotta dig that bass (that's not the only reason, just saying).
