Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros. Currently playing: Nothing Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more What else do I listen to? |

The problem I have with these C64 tracks is that while they're delightfully odd, they fail to measure up VS the more traditional ass-kickers in these types of pairings. Giana Sisters is harmless fun when it's on and then...BAM! It's immediately forgotten once Title Screen hits the screen.
Shame on me for forgetting to nominate Level 1/5 from Silius. Such a great NES soundtrack.
I'm taking over this town...
I'm screaming for vengenace... I'm shouting at the devil... I'm not dead and I'm not for sale... Ain't lookin' for nothin' but a good time... |

Aww, shucks. Loading Theme is really, really awesome. The melody is very pleasant and I find the light-hearted approach to be very appealing.
Title Screen is definitely melodically superior here, though, and it incorporates all kinds of other sound effects creatively while being incredibly addictive. I agree with GoldfishX: once it plays, Loading Theme is forgotten. But it's a shame, because Loading Theme is awesome. ![]() |

I honestly don't know which one to vote for here. I love both of these. I threw a support nom out to Title Screen, and had Loading Theme not been a number 1 nom, I may have given it one.
EDIT - Well, looked at the results... guess I'll throw Giana Sisters a vote this time. ![]() |

Had to check the results; really surprising. I never would've expected Title Theme to be winning by such a margin; I thought most people liked Loading Theme a whole lot from the comments in previous rounds.
Both of these are overrated IMO. Not bad, but not great. I'll give it to Loading Theme; it deserves one point from me sometime. |

Loading Theme fucking sucks and nobody should have ever voted for it.

Those Giana sister have legs, and to their credit they've got a genuinely good C64 tune to back them up. But JtS simply outdoes them here--it's well on its way to reaping the respect that was denied it in BSC '06.

I like both songs, but Loading Theme is more enjoyable.
EDIT: Ah, crap, I voted for the wrong one. Can a mod please change my vote to Loading Theme? Not that it matters at this point.
