I kept waiting for the intro to the Madvillain tune to finish and for the tune proper to start. Sadly it never did, the tune never goes anywhere. Also, I can't condone any tune that references wrestlers. I'm not a big fan of Gomez but they win this one for me.

I was fully ready to vote for Madvillain in this pairing but, seriously, why this track? Madvillain has infinitely better tracks in their repertoire to choose from. Why choose the one with the most disorganized flow?

Looking through Guru's nominations, a lot of them seem to be that way.

Was something supposed to happen in the Madvillain song? Whoever did the remix did a lousy job. On the other hand, the Gomez song is something I can go for.

I have to much love for MF Doom and Madlib to let this slide. I'm not trying to sway your votes, because I agree with you on this being one of their weaker tracks, but this is the Madvillain I love.

How could you not love Doom, though? Look at him!

Normally I wouldn't rush in at the nominator's defense, but from here it looks like Capo has mistaken him for Guru. Capo is that true?

Out of the two, I'm going to go with 78 Stone Shuffle. Neither really did anything for me, but the Gomez piece was the better of the two options.

So you're saying that all of his music is as dull as this? Wow, roll on round two for Gomez.

Far be it for me to object to any tune by a group named "Gomez."

I really like the beats on the Madvillain track, and pretty much the only rap I listen to has to have something more than a hook going on in the background, so I like this track in particular because it doesn't let the listener get too comfortable. It's like Amon Tobin was looking over the producer's shoulder when they recorded it.

I was ready to thumbsdown the Gomez track for the slow intro, but then it gets into that groove in the chorus, and OH GOD I CAN'T STAY MAD AT YOU. <3

I found Madvillain intriguing, first I've heard of them. There better be better tracks though.

"78 Stone Shuffle" has a hueg "wow!" factor that I absolutely love. Haven't heard of this Madvillain evil incarnation thing before, and I can't say I'll be looking into his discography. >=[
It was spectacular.

Taking into consideration what Guru nominated last year, that's a fucking zinger, man.

I don't really identify with or listen to much rap, but that song grabs me for some reason.
