"Built to Last" probably won't. It's tuneful, but not very exciting musically. Far too ordinary.
"Handlebars" has got to be one of the stupidest raps I've heard, but damn is it funny. I don't know how much a market there is for nerd rap, but it just might take off.  Classic J-Pop Volume 22 |

Flobots sounds like it was produced in some New Jersey basement. That, and I don't really like Punk music. I mean, yeah, the lyrics are funny and all, but that's about it.

But you're probably right, the INDIE HIP HOP BAND FROM COLORADO is playing punk music. I listened to the intro to Built to Last and then the dude starting singing and I stopped listening to it. It's yet another tune with nothing to distinguish it from most of the others in the contest. Boring, pointless, doesn't deserve to progress.
The Flobots I liked. Not the sort of thing I'd necessarily pay for but I have no objection to listening to it, in fact I might download it. |

Never heard of The Flobots but I fucking love this hip-hop-ish kind of tune. If nothing else comes up, this could very well be one of my favorite tracks off this contest. Props to whoever nominated it!

Flobots had me at 'i can tie a knot in a cherry stem'; what a funny song. And fuck those kids who ride without using the handlebars - do it while playing gameboy and i might be impressed. I'm not usually all that attentive to lyrics, but this is one of those exceptions.
Music is a mysterious thing. Sometimes it makes people remember things they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories... things almost forgotten... Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember or not.
