Yeah... I like Neutral Milk Hotel and shit, but that motherfucker stops here. Nothing against them or anything but X is far superior in every way shape and form.

I was a huge Neutral Milk Hotel fan a few years back. I don't listen to them as much anymore, but they'll still damn enjoyable. This song was one of my favorites, too.
X on the other hand is new to me, but definitely a band I see myself really getting into soon. I remember saying the girl sounds familiar and now I know the real reason why--Iwata put their song "Los Angeles" on the mix he sent me in 2006. I had always meant to check out more of the bands on that mix (2 massive discs!), but just sorta forgot. After round 1, I downloaded the entire Los Angeles album by X, but still haven't given it a proper listen. So for me it comes down to new vs. the old, I guess. ... Nostalgia wins out here, but I look forward to hearing more from X. |
