Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?
Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros.

Currently playing: Nothing

Hiroyuki Iwatsuki is The Original Greatest VGM Composer and it's about damn time he came back to the scene. it was entirely possible the dude's glory days were well past him and this soundtrack could not come close to his older works which never even received soundtracks, but the Omega Five soundtrack surpassed every expectation. The Place to Rebirth is excellent, like Supersweep on crack. Also, chords.

And hey, this Sky March tune is very good as well. Against the odds presented by other nominations in this contest, it sounds like good RPG music, proving that it's more than possible. A keeper.

EDIT: actually Sky March sucks, don't vote for it

I wouldn't know either of these composers even if they ran up to me on the street and slapped me in the face. But look at the results. The place to rebirth is alright enough, though I'm not a fan of the water dripping sfx.

Sky March, on the other hand, is really good. Really good. The slow-paced guitar noodling in the middle is heavenly.

Nice, if a little Asian-classical for my taste. Not a whole lot more that can be said about it.

Omega Five - The place to rebirth
Lots of super-enthusiastic review of Omega Five since it came out, which probably builds the music up to a point that it's bound to be disappointing. I have to say, the sound really disappointed me with its mushiness, and the only thing I could recall after listening was that a water drip was used as a rhythm instrument.

Sky March etc.
From goop we came, to goop we return.

Haha awesome someone nominated something from the, and I quote, "High-Tension Princess Comedy Special Disc Set HIMEHAJIME BOX". ^.~ Obscure but oh-so welcome to me. "Sky March" is honestly a wonderful song, with fluid, realistic melodic progressions and subtle Asian influences that enhance the melody to perfection. The structure's spot-on (I wish more pieces adopted this structure) and the violin samples are also great.

"The place to rebirth"'s melody is lame and predictable to my ears. Some of the progressions and other elements seem inspired, but then there's always that omnipresent uninspired melody hovering about. =/

"Sky March" - 9.5/10
"The place to rebirth" - 4.5/10

Alright, so The place to rebirth has delicious chords, sick Iwatsuki bass, the best clap sample in VGM history, catchy melody, what's the problem? Oh, yeah, that drip effect, shame how it completely ruins the hell out of the track.

Sky March has MANYO instrumentation going for it, I suppose that counts for something.

Poor "The place to rebirth"... Actually, I think Ayako Saso's arrangement is better. However, "The glacial fortress" is a stronger track and should have been here instead.
