[D] Second Round #2 (Game Breaker vs. Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!)
Listen to both songs and select the one you prefer.
Download Links: Phantom Brave - Game Breaker Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!
Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros. Currently playing: Nothing Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more What else do I listen to?

Phantom Brave - Game Breaker
I don't normally like Nippon Ichi music, but this one's something special. It's like a good Iwadare track--extremely cheesy and unabashedly fun. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar! There's a nice piano part in this song, which unfortunately is frequently eclipsed by stuff that's a lot weaker. I don't know if the original Poketune had the church bells and ponderous strings, but they just seem silly here. Game Breaker. ![]() From goop we came, to goop we return.

"Game Breaker" still hasn't warmed to me immensely, but it's still fairly enjoyable. The eclectic sound of this one is really entertaining, like the wild-west harmonica touches and the Spanish acoustic flavours. (I'm running out of creative ways to comment on music; I'll just borrow some terms from the sense of taste~) ^__^ The violin break is executed reasonably well, but other than that nothing about this one truly engages me.
6 minutes?! *sigh* I forget whether this song's worth the commitment, I guess I'll just have to listen to it in full again......tick tock......eh. Nothing too crash hot going on in this "Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!" track. I liked the flighty interlude at around 2:20, but the rest fell quickly to monotonousness. I think I might make a memo to not bother listening to this one again~ "Game Breaker" - 7/10 "Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!" - 4/10 |

There are some neat piano interludes in Dialga, but otherwise there's little to make the track stand out. Game Breaker, on the other hand, has a consistently fun sound. (What is that lead instrument? Sounds like a kick-ass kazoo, which is the furthest from the truth, to be sure.)

Phantom Brave - Game Breaker
I like the cool guitar rolls. The second part is so so. The third part is nice, I was surprised that there are so many parts. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar! I listened to the entire ost and none of them stood out but Bramble blast. |

Two sorta-okay-meh tracks up against each other. Game Breaker gets my vote by virtue of being short, not exactly the best compliment you can give music: "It bored me for a shorter period of time", more or less. I don't see what's so fun about it, other than that it's not Dialga.

Game Breaker is awesome, especially compared to the unenergetic Dialga.
