Powergoat - The Ice Beam Cometh Remastered
Track was allright, but 9+ is really just for fans or it must be really different, which I think was not the case.

Nostalgic Melodies - On the World of Death
Better than the original, mixed in some piano with electric guitar action. Some tempo changes and variety, so it's pretty good I think.

OCRemix - Calamitous Judgment
The source is a funny track. This one enhances on it by adding more timbre. All in all it's more colorful than the original.

Sephiroth - Embrace in the White Dreams
Should be tough for my nom. It's a bit drawn out, but the whole christmas feeling was done very well I think. Good doujin christmas is rare.

"The Ice Beam Cometh" is a great Super Metroid medley, not much else to say.

"On the World Death", I loved the piano intro. The rock take afterwards was pretty spirited. Great power metal arrangement. If you had told me LuIzA had made this, I wouldn't have doubted it for a second.

"Embrace in the White Dreams" had a pretty ear-grabbing intro with some nice sounds. Simple textures, but effective. The string sequencing could have been a little more refined, as the note movements didn't sound great, but the general listener wouldn't mind as the samples were good. In terms of what I'd listen to again, a solid 2nd. If the string realism hadn't been weaker, I could have voted for this, with chill bias in full effect.

"Calamitous Judgment" was pure nostalgia here for me, as it was the first track I ever approved on the OCR Judges Panel. I remember back then being worried whether zircon had been a blind squirrel who found a nut, because none of his earlier stuff had been nearly this good, but that kid proved me wrong in a big way. I've been a fan of "Kingdom Trial" ever since Spekkosaurus's "The Trial in Concert" and could never imagine anyone effectively arranging a different way until this one came along. Nice stuff, and a very solid bracket overall at least to me.

The Ice Beam Cometh Remastered is a pretty good goat medley, but I've never been a big fan of it for some reason, and I've never been able to figure out why. Probably because I have bad taste in music.

Embrace in the White Dreams, let's talk about the reversed sounds from 1:05 to 1:35. Wonderful. Highlight of the entire match. They return later as accompaniment, amping up the textures. Simple stuff otherwise, though enjoyable.

Calamitous Judgment is still my favorite zircon mix, even though he's only gotten much better technically since three years ago. Catchy melody, fun arrangement, etc.

On the World Death, hell yes, I loves me some Serenade. It's quite unfortunate that they rarely make music, because their arrangements and original compositions are really good; glad to see one made it into the contest. Thought about nominating L.L. from Lost Childlen by them, but I decided it had its turn in the SAUS. On the World of Death rocks, but keeps the freshness coming from start to finish.

The Ice Beam Cometh Remastered was the first track of goat I discovered, and actually it´s a very good one. Maybe a bit too aggressive, but it fits the atmosphere of Super Metroid just perfectly, hence it won my nomination and support now.

On the World Death would be my close second, very strong effort. Calamitous Judgment is a bit too frantic compared to the original, but well, just a different approach I you wanna say so. Not bad either. Embrace in the White Dreams is a bit on the boring side though.

089 The Ice Beam Cometh Remastered
Never a big fan of the original Metroid tracks, and this style of arrangement isn't my thing either.

103 On the World of Death
I was really hoping that this would be a piano arrangement of this theme, which would have been hella nifty. Sadly, that opening is just a tease.

139 Calamitous Judgment
A nicely quirky and percussive arrangement of one of my sleeper favorites from that OST.

156 Embrace in the White Dreams
Nothing's wrong with this per se, and it has some nice moments, but it's rather slow and I found my mind wandering.

Gonna give the cookie to Calamitous here.

Friggin' A, why does Serenade rock so hard. That piano break 3/4 of the way through gets me every time.
