Awesome competition there. My heart still goes to the epic Clock Dance, but it was a close call with the Kwed one.

067 - Lost Children - Rapid Fire
Sweet christ, has piano and violin. As a whole it's some nice upbeat without being overbearing. Some interesting speed change and good overall variety makes this a pretty good track.

080 - Raydrick ~ Ragnarok Online - Clock Dance
I don't get this track. It's slow, mysterious, morose, but still meh.

111 - Kwed - Knucklebusters (PSX Music2000 Edit)
I didn't mind the length, it's was very well done. Kept my interest up all of the time.

133 - OCRemix - Cry of the Chasmal Critter Chain
This one had some really nice moments, but I think it should be more cohesive. A nitpick.

Heh, "Rapid Fire" made me think of Disco Dan's Mega Man material. Good stuff here, definitely, though not particularly catchy for me. The composition was pretty strong here, though the sound choices and textures weren't that hot.

"Clock Dance" was decent too, but I felt the dance-type groove didn't mesh well with the organic strings. Not bad, but doesn't know what genre it wants to be.

"Knucklebusters (PSX Music2000 edit)", why was this so lo-fi? Production-wise, very low quality, just shows a lack of understanding of how to produce. Melodically, hit-and-miss in terms of being catchy, thought the overall groove was really good.

"Cry of the Chasmal Critter Chain" is just awesome, definitely my favorite Adhesive Boy track, and he has a number of really good ones. Great sound choices, great textures, great source tune choice, and a really creative take on it. I love how the soundscape evolved here, and the laid-back vibe is nice. Great stuff that only gets better on multiple listens. It's too bad he doesn't do many arrangements nowadays. Another easy call.

: 080 - Raydrick ~ Ragnarok Online - Clock Dance

What's the big deal with Clock Dance? Starts off slow and sad, which is okay, but the melody lacks any real power and the whole thing just kind of shuffles around. And then languid beats that don't fit the song at all start at 1:14. Hilariously fake guitar comes in at 2:25, but the twenty-five seconds that it's actually in the song before leaving as quickly as it came still manage to be the best part. I just knew there had to be a bad key change coming up somewhere, and there it was at 3:30. Just terribly boring overall.

Knucklebusters has no business at all being seventeen minutes long.

Cry of the Chasmal Critter Chain is my second favorite AB mix, after Unleashed! The Large-Hearted Scientist Boy (And The Magical Monkey). Only weak point is the transition in the middle. Everything else is excellent, featuring creative instrumentation and writing. Cello's definitely a highlight.

So I'm going to vote for Rapid Fire anyway. Melody? Who needs it. Realistic sequencing? Pfft. It's all about concentrated asskicking through insane bass, percussion, and keyboard work. Feeling major groove bias.

067 Rapid Fire
Very impressive this one--piano, violin, percussion galore, and yet it never gets too chaotic or out of step. Quality stuff.

080 Clock Dance
Some nice violin and guitar here, but I have to say that the long buildup was a bit of a letdown--the song doesn't really kick into gear until almost halfway thru.

111 Knucklebusters (PSX Music2000 Edit)
I liked this one at first--very dark and percussive. Sixteen minutes later, I was pretty much asleep. At a quarter of its length this might have been a contender.

133 Cry of the Chasmal Critter Chain
Awarded awesome ace at alliteration. Not bad as a song either.

I've just got to go with Rapid Fire--easily the most impressive of the bunch.

It takes a lot to make Dr. Uzuki lose all semblance of articulation. That's how awesome this track is.

Sorry, AB, I'll vote for you next time, promise.
