Some great emotive playing on Rose of Solemn, but I was really hoping it'd pick up a bit of steam much earlier on, it just kindof slow burns itself to the midway point. When it finally does begin to move a bit, there is no bass at all. It's like an old Metallica album. The guitars sound really thin without a bottom end supporting them.
Monstrous Turtles is strong throughout. Castle Badass indeed. |

Ignoring the fact that Rose of Solemn, still a very admirable and pleasing remix, eradicates the devastating melancholy tone of the original, its extended length also serves to work against it. Turtles vastly improves on the original, in contrast, which is a big plus in my book.
