This is a band called Midlake and the song is what's titled "Head Home". I don't necessarily dislike Midlake but I have been known to give them a spin every once in a while in my iPod. I don't think I've ever heard The Avalanches before but I really really dig this back-winding tune.

"Electricity" is an interesting track, although it is funky and different, I'm not too comfortable with this one.

The Midlake song though is a pleasant surprise. Sort of a Eagles and Fleetwood Mac type song. Rather smooth and coherent.

Oh man, this is the first couple I have really had to think about which way to vote. I will have to go with my nomination though, but I won't be disheartened if it gets beat.

I uploaded their album to the MEC about a month or so ago. I can re-upload it if you're interested.

I'm going with the funky track, but the Midlake track definitely deserves an honourable mention!
Music is a mysterious thing. Sometimes it makes people remember things they do not expect. Many thoughts, feelings, memories... things almost forgotten... Regardless of whether the listener desires to remember or not.
