Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):

Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?
Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros.

Currently playing: Nothing

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

What else do I listen to?

Air Zonk (TG-16) - Level 3, Rocking Stadium falls squarely into the superhyperneedritalin category, with lots of noise but surprisingly little substance. It's not as big an offender as sme tracks in the same category, though, and has a few attractive parts.

Riddle me this, riddle me that. Is there a Castlevania song nominators haven't pulled out of their hat? Castlevania 3 (NES) - Riddle is similar to its competitor in the hyperactivity department, but suffers from my growing anti-Castlevania bias.

How come there haven't been more TG-16 tunes in this contest, one wonders? Zonk has my vote, regardless.

Riddle sounds like less inspired Castlevania music, definitely it doesnīt rank up to highlights like Beginning, Mad Forest or Clockwork, which doesnīt mean itīs bad. Unfortunately Area 3 - Rockin' Stadium is a tough competitor. Tough in a way, that itīs not much better or worse, so itīs gonna be a difficult decision here.

Hmm, the current result reflects my conclusion, itīs tied so far. After listening to both tracks two times, Riddle gets my precious vote.

After falling in love with the first Air Zonk track that appeared in an earlier bracket, I downloaded the rest of the soundtrack and have become pretty familiar with it. I also remember someone stating there was another Air Zonk track yet to appear that was better than the first. Erm, no. In fact (I say this a lot but), this is one of the last tracks I would have chosen from Zonk. Like Orion said, it's hyperactivity with little substance and lots of annoyance. Hyper, to the point of me almost wanting to blow my own head off, in fact. Meanwhile, Riddle is in the same boat, being one of my lesser faved-tracks from CV3. Yet it's at least a solid theme that I like. Whereas Rocking Stadium creates an instant migraine in my Focking Cranium.

Agreed. Area 3 doesn't even hold a candle to Area 2. Annoying polka style I don't like one bit (same issue I've had with Punk Cyborg Battle 1).

Riddle is average at best. Though not annoying and nicer to listen to.

Interesting. The first time I heard Riddle, I liked it a lot. But now that I think about it, it must be because of the thumping bass. Hmm.

Area 3 is dear lord what the hell, but that by itself is still much better than Area 2 which is the most overrated tune in the entire contest.

EDIT: Actually I'm starting to like Area 3 a bit.

Rocking Stadium is technically good, but uninspired. Meanwhile, Castlevania 3. My choice is easy.

Air Zonk has a good beat and a really nifty melody, and I can funk out to it.

Riddle, on the other hand is Classic. But not the best on the OST. . . oh and it's not Akumajou. That would have pulled up the vote for this one immensely. Air Zonk.

: 142 - Castlevania 3 (NES) - Riddle
: 115 - Air Zonk (TG-16) - Level 3, Rocking Stadium

I like this Air Zonk track a touch more than the other one, but I didn't particularly like the other one, so that doesn't say much good about this one. Riddle isn't particularly impressive, but the intro and bass easily made me care more.

This is archived for a reason, you fucking git. The links don't work because the contest is OVER.

If you want the music so badly, find a gamerip. It's out there.
