: 046 OC ReMix - Frame of Mind
: 040 OC ReMix - Linear Groove
: 074 OC ReMix - Godspeed
: 147 Emotion - Wind Nocturne Remix

Wind Nocturne Remix is light, fluffy, and mostly forgettable.

Godspeed is one of The Wingless' old mixes, and it shows. The first half is pretty weak, and the transition is lame, but the second half is pretty good. Strong finish to make up for the earlier stuff I can do without.

Linear Groove is, um, groovy. The first two minutes are fun and nice and okay and neat, but what really sells it is the section starting at 2:09. Cello and Spanish guitar add some much needed spice to the mix.

Another easy victory for a vocal arrangement! Frame of Mind is just classy. Nice vocals and textures, and when the beats come in at 2:44, look out, because we're heading into awesome territory. Rather stunning piece, actually.

Ciao.

"Frame of Mind" is the most sophisticated arrangement on here, though "Linear Groove" would have gotten my vote in a bracket without "Frame". "Godspeed" and "Wind Nocturne" are both fun but show their age, especially "Godspeed". Not a fan of the robotic piano sequencing in "Frame" though, which is pretty sloppy IMO.

Cheers.

During the 1st minute of "Godspeed", I though it was a remix of Metal Gear 2 (MSX) opening...
Voted for the funny "Linear Groove".

Liked the fun and bounciness of Linear Groove. <3

Thought Frame of Mind was basically pretentious and boring.

Godspeed sounded quite amateurish indeed.

Wind Nocturne Remix sounded like one of those TV drama background music.

Linear Groove gets the vote ~

Cheers.

Ah, all classic arrangements. I'll throw Godspeed a vote though, since using the Corridors of Time accompaniment in the second half is a unique and interesting concept.

Ciao.

OC ReMix - Linear Groove
Pretty groovy right away, hence the title I guess, especially for Tetris! The jazz rhythm hihat and the "hoot" noises (don't know the term for that sound effect) piqued my interest.

OC ReMix - Frame of Mind
Rather ephemereal to be placed in my "frequently enjoyable" category, even with the additions about 2/5 through.

OC ReMix - Godspeed
Quite blippy-bloopy at the start then it becomes more active. I never really liked listening to Corneria over and over again though.

Emotion - Wind Nocturne Remix
Elevator/Phone.

Cheers.

I liked these 3:
040 OC ReMix - Linear Groove
046 OC ReMix - Frame of Mind
147 Emotion - Wind Nocturne Remix´
In the end I decided for Wind Nocturne Remix, I realized it's nothing special but it just clicks with me perfectly, the simplicity and the melody. I was a bit shocked to see Home Theme in Frame mind. While I appreciate the subdued qualities of this track, at some parts it has a tendency to drown down. It's actually very similir to some vocal tracks from previous pairings.
Goodspeed felt a bit dispersed.

Ciao.

040 OC ReMix - Linear Groove
This is surely the product of a deranged mind. Crazy shrill hooting noises, random LP white noise, and Tetris in a kind of cocktail. Some parts were crazy great; others were just crazy.

046 OC ReMix - Frame of Mind
Wow, a BG&E remix! That game deserves a boatload more. The vocals are pretty good, and I thought I heard a snatch or two of Mitsuda mixed in as well. A little choppy, though, as such medleys tend to be.

074 OC ReMix - Godspeed
Some nice bits, though it drags sometimes and the SFX at the start are dreadful.

147 Emotion - Wind Nocturne Remix
More laid-back stuff. Nice if a little dull.

Gonna have to go with BG&E here.

Cheers.

I pretty much agree with niki here.

Linear Groove: easy winner in an average group. Very surprising, and very catchy.

Frame of Mind: well, it's... err... relaxing. But it's pretty tasteless, too. I too felt some MGS2 and some Chrono here and there.

Godspeed: hmm. Some parts are nice indeed, but the overall track just doesn't click.

Wind Nocturne Remix: it's hard to call this an arrangement, really. The melody is nice, but this track doesn't add anything to its original.

Ciao.

I'm mystified by the total lack of appreciation for Godspeed. I even strove to listen with a new ear after reading these meh reactions -- and I was still swept up in its concussive appeal like a wistful school girl.

Don't listen to them Godspeed. We'll always be together.

Cheers.
