Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros. Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more What else do I listen to? |

Haha, easiest choice ever.
"Diving" is superb. Dean Evans is a genius. Etc. I'm still completely engrossed every time I listen to this piece, and 0:58 in particular gives me chills. I don't think this is my favourite track remaining (I might post some ranks later), but it's definitely in my top 3. "OBORO" is fun for a while, but after that it's just nothing more than aesthetic aural wallpaper. It's my second least-favourite track remaining, and it's up against one of my very favourites. I think it's time for the Ys tune to bow out gracefully. >=3 "Diving" - 9.5/10 "OBORO" - 6.5/10 Ciao. |

At times, Oboro's trading lead instruments and wall of noise approach, effective as it is, feels less cohesive as it sacrifices melody and synchronicity between the elements. That charge can be hardly leveled against Diving, which is simply one of the best remaining out of this elite group and feels so smooth that it's a sin.
Cheers. |
