Worst April's Fools Joke
Well in about 3 weeks or so it will be April's Fools and we all know what that means. A variety of websites will either change their layout for the worse or post something shocking (ie...gaming sites will put up false info about a game). Its also notable that ...when this happens if you check said forums of these websites...there will always be a douchebag who goes "Dont worry guys...its april's fools!"...like saying the obvious makes him cool.
GamingForce even had some, I know last year they made it look like GFF was wiped...and I think a few people bought it. There was a bunch of people who got temp banned because of the ridiculous posts they put up. It was funny. I think , could be wrong, the year before that...it was GamingFrench...where the forums had the colors of the french flag... I dont know, its just pretty predictable anymore. Im sure that the first website to ever pull something like this on aprils fools day...it was hilarious...but now...8 years later...well I guess it can still be funny somtimes. Here's the old April Fool's Day pranks on GFF. Even though there were probably hurt feelings and it didn't work exactly as planned, I liked April Fool's Day 2004. Having a pre-emptive prank of fake drama was pretty clever, especially if all the drama were to disappear on April 2nd. Ultimately, our AFD pranks that we do here can't really go that far (I mean, they're usually obvious pranks), so having a high-concept con like that was refreshing. |

Wow, the Wiki lacks Pornoforce, which was easily the best of the GFF April Fool's Day jokes. My mom was in the room when I discovered that particular prank, and I had a fun five minutes explaining that one.
Gamingfrance was lame, lame, LAME. So as long as this year's doesn't suck as much as Gamingfrance, all will be well. |

Regardless, the fake drama thing from 2004 had me in TEARS when I found out about it. It was THAT awesome and I laughed THAT HARD. I wish I had paid more attention to GFF when April fools rolled around.
I vaguely remember after I first joined a bit of confusion in my mind when there was only one forum, and I couldn't find the sheet music, or whatever. I was not at all involved in the community, and was only a leecher. I just kinda shrugged it off, and left for class, or something. I hope that this year's prank will have sufficient quantities of hilarity in it. |
