While that does sound promising el jacko, each new plugin added throws more compatibility problems into the mix. I know for a fact a lot of BATs pretty much do not work on the mac. I'm going to road test the GLR on a fresh install and see how that goes. I'm feeling less than optimistic about sunken highways.

As someone who used to play the game on a Mac, I understand completely. I also realize most people don't have the patience to make sure every file of theirs is fully compatible and such (I get frustrated a lot with this). I figured, since I have all the necessary files for most basic additions, I can collect and make the download ZIPs myself that people can use, so nobody is missing anything important.

For example, the sunken highway walls. In this ZIP file you'll find all the necessary compatibility files; just copy the entire folder into My Documents/Simcity 4/Plugins/. I just tested it, and it works. There are some readmes on how to use the BATs included as well.

EDIT: However, RAB, I do remember trying to get the highway walls to appear on a Mac was difficult due to a weird way File Juicer dealt with the .EXE; do they work for you?

Yeah, something is wrong with how it gets downloaded. I used a download manager to get it to completely.

So, as an alternative, I uploaded it to my web host.
Thanks!

Did you install the essentials file? I think it makes the draggable-ness work. I did, and everything was fine for me.
At the time, I didn't.

But even after I did install the essentials, it would still crash out. It's no big deal, the puzzle pieces work better, anyway.

Also, I messed around with the terraforming tools a bit, and created a river divide to add a little diversity to the region. I'll take more suggestions if there's any other things you guys want in terms of landscaping.

A note to everyone using the provided SC4 deluxe torrent: it is the European region version, so make sure you download the sku2 update from the Maxis website.

Another note: If you're using daemon tools, DISABLE all disc protection emulation options, otherwise the game will freeze upon startup after you install NAM.

I downloaded it and added my web host as an alternate location.

Tried it out quickly, and it's interesting. I might try using it in my city.

However, the "dragable" GLR rails would crash the game every time I tried to connect them to a station. The puzzle pieces would work just fine, though.
The GLR tooltips are screwed. I assume I installed it properly, but the mod doesn't appear to be complete.

That'll happen with some mods. It still works, you'll just have to figure the mod out yourself.

Also, put the finishing touches to the region (did a few things to balance out the large lots since they had lots of space, but no drawbacks,) and I've (hopefully) got the details for the main post ironed out. I'll be posting the region, all the details, and allowing lot selections tomorrow, hopefully before I have to do stuff.

I've updated the main post with the final details, and with that, I have the region uploaded (if you downloaded the one I posted earlier, download this one, because there were changes!)

So, you guys can pick your lots and get started! The cities are due for the first update on June 25th.

Alright then, I will try my luck with lot #24. Maybe I will pick some additional lots later, but one is enough for me at the moment

I will pick lot #13, I am sure I will just pick one so I can easily meet my quota after I see how it goes I guess I will see if I grab one more. Also one question... I do have the game installed right now and working but do I need the sku patch for this? well just to know since well dumb me installed the mods and the files don't match anymore so that means I have to delete everything reinstall again, see if it patches, then work again with mods, I guess it's just to clarify what I should do in this case.

I don't think the mods actually modify the core game files, do they?

I don't think they do. I believe they all go into the Plugins folder in the My Documents\SimCity 4 folder.

If you have a patched simcity4.exe file (for say, running the game with no cd in the drive, wink wink,) that would make the patch error out.

But that's quite alright, since the patch isn't necessary.
