GFF is a hellhole full of elitists who chat about everything EXCEPT games. It's...my name. Though there's a bit of a story.

There's one or two other usernames that I generally use online, but just for a lark, I sometimes try my own name first just to see if I can get it. Since "Amanda" is common as hell, you can imagine how often it's available. This is one of the few places I ever managed to actually get it. So I took it as a sign and stuck with it.

It's the name I used in a fighting game forum. Basically my name is "fighting gamer", I know is not the most original name in the world but I'm already used to it.

Oh wow, an anime origin name. How original.

It originally started out as Chaotic Century from Zoids: Chaotic Century. After using it on this board for the longest time, I started to spread my horizons and venture out into the big world they call Forums on the Internet. My friend introduced me to another board which lasted only a week until they got shut down, but there I shortened Chaotic Century to just Chaotic. Since then, i've been using Chaotic since it's alot easier to say than saying Chaotic Century. Also it looks simplistic, but cool. Not meaning to sound cocky in any way.

Well, I used to go by as Agent Proto, however most people call me Proto, and GFF recently recovered from a crash, so I decided to register as Proto.

As for my Agent Proto name, that was a combination of two previous screen names I had, AgentBS and Protocool. Pretty neat eh? I may eventually re-add Agent to my name in the future, but I have no idea if that's going to happen any time soon. I'm getting lazy about picking a cool name, so I just picked Proto because it's not taken. =D

First it was Devolution7 (my real name is Devon so I fused it with Revolution most people assume it's De-evolution and that's fine), then eventually I dropped the 7, then at one point I decided to shorten it to Devo. If I get the urge it will be Devolution again.

Judging by your pics, it's very hard to tell if you're a woman or not. I'm sure your parents just took their best guess when you came out. =o

As for mine, it's a complete accident. I was taunting someone someday for beating them at Tetris/Mario/something else and there was a different TV on in the room that had some history documentary on it.

When I said the word "skills", the TV had JUST before said the word "colonel". My friend said "Did you just say Colonel Skills?". I thought it was oddly hilarious, and have used it ever since~.

Gumby is the nick name I picked up from my old weights teacher in high school. He called me that for my abnormal flexibility. If I ever worked at it I could probably be a contortionist...

When I was 17 - way back in 1993 - I got into a nasty accident on my bike. I was lucky and suffered minimal injury; the embarassment was much worse since it was mostly my fault.

When I arrived at my job with a black eye, chipped tooth and some unappealing cuts on my cheek and arms, I was nicknamed "Crash". It became a running joke and this "Crash" became an alter-ego of sorts.

Since I was then working on some amateurish comic strips, I decided that "Crash" would be a fun character to have but the name felt incomplete. After some brainstorming, I came up with "Crash Landon" as a semi-clever play on words.

At this time, the internet was just beginning to take off in popularity, so I decided to use the name online as well. Eventually, the comic strip was stopped due to it lacking a cohesive plot, but the name stuck with me.

I've used "Crash Landon" for 12 years now. It's not the only name I have though. If you see someone named "Alphanumerican" or "Retrogradio", it's probably me as well. I like to have a couple alternate names just to add variety.

I've always wondered where Retrogradio comes from, Crash. Any history behind that one?

I used to be Lisztman here, and pretty much everywhere else online.
myspace, xanga, photobucket, AIM, even my bank account login. (perhaps not a good idea).
I decided however to change my name because that name was having a bit of stigma with that, which was not-so-well-thought-out-arguments in the Political Palace. After having already altered my interaction methods to conform to how this place operates, I decided it was time for a name change. So I changed it to Fyodor D. for Fyodor Dostoevsky, my favorite author.

Oh. I posted a thread in the "Welcome, Welcome" forum.
A sum total of 6 fucking people responded, and I think it got a total of 31 views.

And just curious, what did you think of Lisztman? (as in, how I was when I first started here)

I used to read a comic book called Nighthawk that I really liked.

I was going to play a online game once and i was trying to think of a name, so figured I would use Nighthawk, but it was acceptable. I debated being the nerd guy and typing it like Nytehawk, but went for Knight instead. Pretty stupid , I use it for everything though.

My user name is pretty simple. When I first joined I found a link on Pgamers (Which is now sadly gone to the big graveyard of of the interweb, or so it seems) where I was using the name The Outlaw Mew. So, being the most unoriginal person there is, deside to drop the 'the' and 'Mew' and just go by Oulaw. So there you go....simple huh?

I've always tried to keep my username small, possibly compensating for the ridiculously long names I had when I first started on the int4rn3t.

Jin there, Coda elsewhere; nothing too outrageous. I like it clear on what you are supposed to address me as.

Well here at GFF i've had a few different names, to begin with it was Rinoa because I really liked her character in FF8. Then I wanted something different so it changed between Sikari and Hikari. Then finally I just settled for Sian, because it's my name.
I'm trying

Lies! Your name is Siān!

A few years ago I suddenly decided it would be kind of cool to start using an anime smiley as a name. I want mostly hanging out on Quakenet at the time, so I tried to change my nick there. ^^ was taken, ^_^ was taken... ^__^ (!) was taken, so I ended up settling for ^___^.

When I registered on GFF, at first it was just to look for some sheet music, so I didn't give the whole nickname thing much consideration. When I actually became a part of the community and Yushiro nicknamed me "Face", I decided to stick with it.
