My username is originally drawn from (of all things) a Star Wars novel, but I don't spell it the same way. I'm not even really bothered about Star Wars anymore, but the name has become very much a part of me. You'll find me under this nick where ever on the net you find me.

My original username was 'Mantoid', which is just something I made up. It is derived from the word Mantis, as Praying Mantises are my favourite creature!

The 'Megalith Beast' was a exceptionally nasty creature featured in Saga Frontier II, I chose that name because I am paying homage to that incredible game and also, I think it's an awesome name!

I first 'invented' this name when I was 14. It's from the dragonlance series. :embarassed: Then I just never changed it. Guess I got too used to it.

In the early 2002's, a band called Deathstars released a CD called Synthetic Generation. I loved the CD, and I loved one song on it called 'Syndrome'. Hence my screenname.

I started to think of names that I could use for a user name on another forum, and as it was a Sonic forum, I started putting a load of words that resembled Sonic in some way, and I came up with SonicEchidna.

Was very proud of it at the time, and I haven't come up with a better one since.

After this last crash, I decided on changing my username to something completely different. I decided on naming myself after a star. Adara (also spelled Adhara) is a star in the constellation Canis Majoris. The star's name is derived from Arabic and means "the maidens" or "the virgins," but the name Adara itself also means "beauty" in Greek, "fire" in Hebrew, and various things in other languages (at least that's what some baby name website said).

Tappy comes from composer Tappy Iwase, who we possibly all know best as the composer of the Metal Gear Solid Main Theme (any many other classic Konami games).

When I first played MGS on the Playstation I was quite a bit fascinated about the name of this composer as the opening titles rolled by when you sneak around the dock and behind the forklift (near the elevator)....I remember that that was the moment when his credit came onscreen.
The whole beginning of this game just brings back so much nostalgia that it was a no-brainer for me to use it as a username at one time!
(plus the MGS theme is just a classic!)
Later I found out that he was also one of the composers of Contra III on the SNES, which is one of those SNES games that has some of my most favorite music from the 16-bit era!

Tappy (Tibbons) is also the commercial guy from the movie Requiem For A Dream.
Most of you will probably remember this quote from it: "Juice by Tappy"!

My name is the Japanese Sega webiste, just in case you couldn't tell already. Sega of Japan always shortchanged the US, even though it was the biggest market (case in point, the DC is STILL releasing new games in Japan). It represents my envy of the Japanese market and how it does fan service much more often it's people.
Why did I keep my weird name? Simple, every time you type my name, it makes a hyperlink!

Well, we've all heard the phrase "yo man". So a couple of years ago i came up with the brilliant idea of putting those two together.

It's basically me coming up with something new and exciting. I was playing FF9 at the time, and Zidane's Dyne attacks were pretty cool. Also, DataDyne in Pefect Dark.

Dynendal, the name I use everywhere else, was altered from LOTR's "Dinendal". So now I say Dynendal and Dyne for short.

sprouticus derives from the very first nickname I got that I actually didn't mind - Lil' Sprout. I got that at work when my good friend, a full timer, made me his "apprentice" and told me that I was his Lil' Sprout. The other reason is because when I started at that workplace, I was pretty short, and now I'm quite tall.

The -icus came from my manager adding all sorts of suffixes to sprout. Sproutiferus, Sproutifus, Sproutificus Emminacious, and of course Sprouticus. That one seemed to fit best, so I use it here.

Lil' Sprout Pictures is also the name of my film production name. I put it in before every film I direct.

I'm a history nerd and always though Xerxes was a cool name. Xerxes was a Persian King/General who was close to conquering so much, but got his ass kicked by Greece and the Spartans. Then I played System Shock II and it was set in stone. XerxesTheMighty is just one of the variations I use. Before I started using it though, I was know as either Insper, Diablo(after the game), or Goliath(Gargoyles!) playing the best damn game of its time: Tribes II.

My old RP character from when I was a kid was "Ultima Ichijouji," which was also my old username. It was a originally a combination of the Ultima spell of Final Fantasy fame and Ichijouji of Ken Ichijouji from Digimon Adventure 02.

But since I've dropped the Ichijouji and all the old meanings and crap. I thought of changing my username to my actual first name, but I guess Ultima will do for now.

Ultima is also the name of the legendary (but often unknown to new school gamers) RPG franchise. What always confused me was the Ultima Weapon (sword from FFVII) and the Ultimate Weapon (boss from FFVII).

Mine comes from an evolutionary series. First, I was looking up names for a D&D character, an Elven Cleric, and I found an Irish names list. I picked Aedan Amaranthis, which I thought was nice. Both of those names stuck, and I used them both regularly in games. I have younger brothers that like to play imaginary games, and I play along, and they're usually complex Roleplaying games invented all in the mind and out of doors. My character was an Admiral, and Amaranthis was shortened to Amara. This eventually became my AIM SN, and it's what I stick with nowadays.

Xeogears13 does not come from a misspelling of Xenogears. I actually didn't know the game existed when I made up the name 6 years ago. I've used it ever since on just about every forum and site I've signed up for. The 13 is from a friend of mine that I made over the internet, HyperKel13. He taught be a lot and I thank him for that.

Seems to be back...

One day I was making pancakes for breakfast and was in a rush to get my sibling to school. I ran upstairs to get my books and things ready for the day (first mistake), came back down and made sure my sister was ready for kindergarten as well. When I got back to the stove the pancakes were getting somewhat burnt, and I was looking around for some kitchen utensil to flip it, basically what I wanted was a spatula. However none to be found, I ended up using two forks to flip over the cakes (second mistake).
With the two mistakes already, the pancake looked pretty screwed and burnt, as the forks sorta stabbed through the cakes and make them all weird looking. After eating breakfast, I quickly put the plates and things into the dishwasher, but lo and behold, the spatula was in the dishwasher clean and washed from last night.

Now this incident wasn't really what made me choose the name, but later during the car ride, my sister said, "yeah, you should have used the spatula." Irritated, I wanted to call her back a name, but to not be hurtful, I said, "whatever, ladel". So for the rest of the day back and forth we addressed each other as "Spatula" and "Ladel".

During that night, I decided to join an internet forum (the forum before I joined GFF), and was thinking of a username. "Spatula" popped into my mind and the more I said it, the more I liked it. Hence how I chose the name when I later joined GFF.

Yeah, I'm terrible at "cooking".
