Food Commercials
Like any advertisement these work to convince you of shit that just isn't true. It's especially true when it comes to the fast food commercials. It sucks when these preview at like 12 am, you're tired but hungry and you actually find yourself becoming appetized. Despite the fact you know that particular restaurant is utter shit.
Anyway, what late night ads or ads in general make you hungry for food? For me the KFC commercials are especially appetizing despite KFC being total shit food. You know when they have a whole family surrounded by buckets of chicken. I suddenly get the urge to eat some chicken.

I just hate when the ads for fast food come on during the late night touting phrases such as "Eat great, even late." This implies that the food you buy at 12:30 AM is going to be fresh, prepared with quality, and in general taste good. What you get though, are fries that are old, dried up, and lukewarm, crappy and slow service, and a just in general lackluster experience, no matter how good the restaurant is during the daytime.

I remember seeing a commercial for Dove chocolate that made me want to go out and buy some. I think I managed to catch the commercial during a time in which I hadn't had chocolate for a while.

hmm..almost all food commercials make me hungry late at night. but i guess i'd have to agree with the KFC commercials, even though i like Church's Chicken WAY better. Pilsbury chocolate chip cookie ads are awesome too. the ones that never make me hungry are the chocolate bar/candy commercials. i wonder why that is... lol

Taco Bell commercials when I'm hungry really make it look appetizing, despite being barf-worthy when you actually watch them assemble the food together in person. The same goes for any feature burger, to a lesser extent, like Wendy's Swiss Bacon Melt which actually didn't turn out to be as appetizing as I thought. Hunger really skews your perception

It's good! BULLSHIT I like Wendy's probably more than any other fast food joint, but when it comes to their special burgers or whatever, it's utter shit. All of them. Their dollar menu, for the most part, makes up for it, though. |

Marks and Spencer's ads. I haven't met a single person who didn't want to rush down to a store and buy their food. Then again, it actually does taste good. They just advertise so damn well.
As for fast food, I'd go with KFC. I don't even eat chicken but it looks really appetising. |

Taco Bell has some pretty deceiving commericals. The way the cheese and guacamole and meat look makes me want to go out and get some, if only I didn't know that I would receive a soggy tortilla with grade Z beef.

Wendy's commercials at night make me drool. The single classic burger with cheese. The spicy chicken sandwich. MMmmmm.... I agree that most of their specialty burgers suck...but the Bacon Cheddar Melt was amazing back when I was in highschool.

I hate seeing food advertisements just before a movie starts in a theatre. That, combined with the smell of buttery popcorn and cheesy nachos around you. Makes me so hungry! I don't want to spend the outrageous amount of money on food there though, so I suffer a few minutes before the movie starts

Late one night I saw an ad for Popeye's popcorn chicken. By god was it effective. Later that week I dragged a friend out and we went to Popeye's and I got my popcorn chicken. It was really very mediocre and not worth the money, but at least now I know.
It's certainly a lot easier to avoid these things if you already have plenty of snacks or whatever at home. ![]() |

Oh my god, whenever Pringle commercials come on...
I'm kind of a health nut, so I don't have a lot of junk food (or any, really, for that matter) in my house. However, I just get cravings for something nice and greasy and totally unhealthy, and then I see a pringle commercial. I just have to have them.

The Doritos commercial with Ali Landry catching chips in her mouth at the laundromat.
![]() It's too bad I can't find it on YouTube but yeah, that commercial made me buy Doritos for like a year. Now the only thing that makes me hungry is Olive Garden commercials and I don't even like going there... I just start cooking pasta with meatballs to somehow NOT justify the fact that COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENT WORKS ON ALL FRONTS. ![]() |

Pizza Hut is one that has me reaching for the fridge of a night, those pizzas just look so god damn good. I'd have to agree with Bernard too, M&S stuff is advertised really well. Little on the pricey side, but it does taste pretty good.

KFC somehow made me want to have fried chicken yesterday, which is miraculous because:
1) I don't like fried chicken. 2) I don't succumb to TV marketing ploys very often. 3) I've only had KFC maybe 2 times in my life. It just struck me as odd. |
the nearest sonic is about 2-3 hours away but about once a week you'll see Sonic commercials for some weird reason... Wing Stop commercials do make me want to go but the prices are crazy |

The Taco Bell late night advertisments do more then make me crave psuedo mexican at 11 pm. About half the time I actually go and get a quesadilla, or any other completely interchangable Taco Bell menu item.
Problem with Taco Bell is the fact that despite their "Im Full!" advertisement, I can never get enough Bell. I ate like 6 soft tacos, and a Nachos Bellgrande and still had a fierce hunger. ![]() |

I used to get sad when I saw a Krystal's commercial, because they were just so terrible these couple of times I had it at one point. But one day, out of nowhere I was like "God damn it, I want 20 Krystal burgers." So I got some, and they were actually pretty damn good. I think maybe it's just the chicken. I remember that's what put me off to begin with.
I'm gonna hop on the KFC bandwagon though. Their stuff always looks so juicy and good, with like 5 pounds of chicken meat per leg/breast. But when you actually go out and get some, it's a tragedy. I remember when the popcorn chicken first came out and I saw them on tv, ran out to get some immediately. What I got was a box full of bread crumbs, with maybe two or three pieces of actual meat. Their pot pies are decent though, and the biscuits are the shit. No point in denying it. They've got nothing on Popeye's biscuits though. Or their chicken for that matter. ![]() |
