Sparkling Jell-O

I heard from someone that they're going to discontinue Sparkling Jell-O. For those of you that don't know, it's specifically for mixing with carbonated water so you get bubbly Jell-O.

I'm confused, though, as to how the Sparkling kind might be different from the regular kind. Can't you just pour carbonated water into regular Jell-O, or is the gelatin in the Sparkling kind more "firm" and holds the bubbles better?

How is it that I've never heard of this amazing invention!
Wow, seriously, who would bother making something as pointless "Sparkling Jell-O"?
Just chill.

It really doesn't do shit. The bubbles all settle out before it gels up. And you have to stir it well; a step in which you lose MORE carbonation. Tried this for Jell-O shots and it was a horrible failure.

Which is probably why they're discontinuing it. And besides, if you do get the a good amount of carbonation in, it still tasted like regular Jell-O. On an off hand note, you think Bill Cosby had anything to do with it?

"Sparkling Jell-O"? Never heard of it. They always had the recipe for adding soda on the back of the regular Jell-O packages, but I've never tried it.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen that MADtv skit with Bill Cosby and the "Jello Shots"? Classic.

Sparkling Jell-O, I have heard about, but I didn't think there would be a difference so I didn't care to buy it.

No point in making something no one knows about or care to buy.

I thought they discontinued this a lo~ong time ago. They did in my area, at least; the stuff was all over Big Lots and the discount grocery stores.

My friend and I actually tried to make it over Christmas, and discovered that yeah...it doesn't work. I've never met one person for whom it did work. No big loss to the grocery store that I can see.
