GFF is a hellhole full of elitists who chat about everything EXCEPT games. We have a team of dedicated moderators who will ban your ass on the slightest provocation, constant member-organized activities that you are not allowed to participate in, and plenty of custom features, including our unique journal system where you can post entries that will be completely ignored. If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ or our GFWiki. You will have to register before you can post. Although membership is completely free (and gets rid of the pesky advertisement unit underneath this message) we do not recommend that you sign up, because you will get kicked in the nuts repeatedly.

I toyed around with Inkscape a bit and found it works best on Artistic or cartoon like images, so there's a heads up if you need it.
Of course anyone with knowledge of how vector images work would understand why this is true. ![]() |
![]() Hi-res http://systema.googlepages.com/SS.jpg Thought the background was pretty neat. I got it off DA, though it's hard to find good dual-screen walls in general. edit. Heh, excuse the messy icons Also, the 5 Centimeters per Second desktop absolutely wins.

Long answer: Vectors use mathematical algorithms to calculate angles, lines, curves, and the like. When you have photographic levels of detail and/or (especially) heavy shading or gradients, it takes a TON of CPU power to calculate that mathematically. These things are easier to do in bitmapped graphics (.jpg, .png) because it's just a grid of coloured pixels. Now tell me all about your pain, down to the details. |

I've switched my wallpaper around a bit, but finally found one I can stick with for awhile.
![]() it replaced my ARMY OF NYORO~N, but I like it. I always try to keep my desktop clean, and as such my start menu is a complete mess. but I still know where everything I need is in it. Could do with a new windows theme though :/ |

I think he means the original desktop image. That one has some desktop icons and winamp on it.
