Credit Cards

I just had an epiphany. Everyone needs a credit card sooner or later.

So what's a good card. I need one that has a cool background on it. Does Visa let you upload your images, or what.
How do I reach this fucking orb?

My credit card:

They don't let you use registered trademarks, or copyrighted images. But it wasn't too much trouble to cut out the copyright text, plus AC isn't easily recognizable outside the gaming world. Keep that in mind.

I have no credit card. I really should get one though considering how much stuff I order off of Amazon.ca.

I use this card called a GM Visa. I earn points towards buying a car from a company I may very well not buy a car from. I really need to get a new card.

Once some fucker in Quebec somehow got a hold of my credit info and maxed out the card (couple thousand). Fortunately my crediters have some kinda crack team of investigator types and they fixed up the whole deal. ='D

Whatever you do, don't do business with Capital One. Their customer service barely speaks English, and you get ramrodded with charges from day one for shit you never knew existed.
and after all this...

Seconded.

Capital One cards either have stupidly high interest rates or nasty hidden charges, and they love to lure lower-income people in with introductory offers...only mentioning the 25% normal interest rate in 4-point MS Flyspeck Sans Serif. My first card was a Capital One card, and I paid it off and dumped it as quickly as possible when I got a lower-interest one.

And Capital One's customer service really is horrible. They must spend all of their money on cute advertisments with Vikings.

If you're a college student (or are going to college in the near future) and have at least some income, you'll probably get offers for "student" credit cards from various banks. They'll probably offer better rates than you can get with regular credit cards, and some come with halfway-decent perks, though you absolutely can't miss a payment with one (not that missing payments is ever a good idea) unless you want to pay a 30-40% penalty rate for a year.

I got a credit card offer from my school. It was one of those, "get free pizza and a credit card!". Nice thing was that it has my school's logo and mascot on it.

They'd sell mad credit cards with this idea.

I have two cards, but one of them is dead. I don't know why; it was delinquent for like 2 billing cycles before I paid it off completely, but after that, I couldn't use it anymore. I was happy with it because there were no fees or interest as long as I paid at least $10 on it a month. But, no longer.

I wasn't too bummed because I have a second Capital One card. I don't have any problems with it. APR is high as fuck, but if you pay your shit off entirely every month it shouldn't be a huge deal.

ZOMG had to pay $2 extra bux; who cares.

I'm afraid using credit card. There are too many carders in the world.
Free VGM Mp3 Download~

You all think you got good deals, huh? Ha! You frugal and observant shoppers have more to learn.

None of that approaches this:

Allow me to share a track from this CD. Here ya go.
I think he should have paid you .01¢ instead.

I have a captial one but it's Visa Captial One. I have no problem with, I've looked at thier interest rate, and all thier actual binding contracts. I have had NO hidden fees and thier custermer support I've had no probelm with. This is my first credit card but all I use it for is for online expenses(like my website) and World of Warcraft. And as well when I went to get paypal and using my savings account as well.

But then again, you can't have interest off of 0 bucks when you instantly transfer your 15 bucks for WoW using thier direct payment method.

I am bound and determined to fight against ever owning a credit card. I think it's stupid that you either have to have a credit card or you can't get the item at all. Some people won't even accept debit or checks. Frankly, I want to stay out of debt as much as possible (except the stupid loans the college suckers me into b/c of room and board).

However, I have heard of a card that does allow you to have a choice of a few images to put on it. I'm not sure which one that is though. However, the site listed in an earlier post may be the one you're talking about.

That's what debit cards are for; so you don't go into debt but have most of the power of a credit card. Then again, you can just as easily go into debt by overdrawing your checking account.

The key is self-control.

I believe money's not as fun in card from. But this whole "Pick your own image" thing is very appealing.

I know, but some websites only take credit (not debit). A friend of mine told me I could use the debit as a credit (as long as I didn't overdraw on my account) but I need to ask her how that works again.

You can use your debit card as a credit card if it is of a major credit card company. For example, my bank is 5/3rd bank, but my debit card is still somehow a Visa. I can use it anywhere I could use a Visa credit card, I can also use it as an ATM card. When I use it, the money is deducted directly from my checking account.

The drawback is that if I have not yet been paid and want/need something immediately, or have deposited a check that may take a few days to clear, I will be stuck if my checking account is low. That's when a credit card comes in handy. But too many people look at it as "free money" and go apeshit with it and don't worry about the consequences.

Or perhaps I'd rather have something like a monthly bill go to my credit card, just to be fairly confident I will never overdraw my checking account.

Yeah, the key is self control. It isn't credit cards that are evil at all, it's more of our human nature that takes control.

Well, Visa just came out with a debit card that's supposedly accepted wherever a credit card is accepted. Don't know anyone who has one though. Oh wait, Eleo has one.

Man, what the turd.

If you are going to sign up for the custom Visa, don't do it in Opera. The image editor won't even load, and you won't be able to go back and create a custom image. You'll have to wait for them to send you the card first, with the account number so you can access their online services.

Fuck this nerd.
