Pick two people you most want to meet in the world.

If you could meet any two people in the world, who would they be? Obviously people still alive. It can be for whatever reason. By meet I mean actually sit down and talk with or hang out with for a while. Not just a simple shaking of the hand and on your way.

My two people are Larry David and Charles Barkley. Larry David IMO is the funniest man to ever grace this planet, and I'd love to meet him and pick his brain on how he comes up with these crazy scenarios in Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld.

As for Charles, he's one of my favorite people in this world. He is one of the all-time great Sixers, so I love him alone just for that. Charles is funny, he isn't politically correct, which I love(because I hate PC people), and he knows basketball. I'd love to just sit down and talk with him about basketball, life and other issues. Even if I don't agree with everything he says, he's a smart guy and tells it like it is. He isn't afraid to speak his mind.
THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE YOUR 2008 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS. I LOVE A PARADE.

Bill Gates. I'll make him give me cash. Even a small percentage off his total networth would do.

Warren Buffett. Same reason + make him my investment mentor.

If you learn how to make Bill Gates give you money then I would love to meet you...unless it involves something physically painful...then I'll admire you from afar (*Imagines someone giving Gates a noogie and a wedgie*).

Other than that, I think the two people I would want to meet are my favorite author (so I can talk to her and maybe find out how to publish independently) and Kevin Smith (b/c he's Kevin Smith).

It might help if you named your favorite author.

Mike Macdonald, the canadian comedian because he's the funniest person ever, and Bobby Orr, he's a big hero of mine and I'd love to be able to talk with him.

It's a little embarrassing, but Lois Duncan. I know she writes books for teens and I should be more focused on reading scholarly journals and such, but they are so boring and I would love to go into the field of juvenile fiction like her and J.K. Rowling.

I'd like to meet the surgeon that saved my life a few years back. I really admire ER surgeons. They have such a tough job, and they've gone through so much to get to where they are. I was too doped up on pain killers to talk to him before, but I think that it would be great to follow him around for a few days and see him work. I can't wait until I start my career as a doctor.

I'd choose:

Steven Hawking and the Dalai Lama.

These two men represent the best of two fields which continue to fascinate my idle thoughts. When I can't sleep, the two subjects I contemplate most are time/space theory and spiritual philosophy.

Although I choose an occupation in the arts, I would probably do well in quantum mechanics or philosophy as well. And if I get to choose ANY two people, why not aim for the stars?

(Incidentally, the Dalai Lama will be a guest speaker at a local college this fall and I've been on the advance ticket notice list for over a year now. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to simply sit in the same room as this man and listen to his wisdom. Rare is such an honor.)

I'd go with Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. and Don Van Vliet. I would go with the Dalai Lama like Crash, but these guys are old, and they won't be back after a few years.

Oprah Winfrey - because I want to see if she is genuine and charismatic as she appears to be on TV

and

George Clooney for the same charisma test reason.

Mother Teresa would have been on the list for the same reasons.

You wanted to meet Mother Teresa to test her charisma? That's pretty sad.

That could be awesome to see. I know that one of my favorite singers from Australia sounds like he would be a deep soul, but people have mentioned that he's actually a total prick.

Hmm . . . choices choices . . .

I would choose for person number one one of the three great Minimalist composers: Steve Reich, Philip Glass, or John Adams because I enjoy their music immensely and would love to understand what it takes to make music the way they do.

As for person number two, I would probably go for Brian Greene, the man who made String Theory understandable to the layman. It would be interesting to discuss things that most people would be queasy to discuss such as the size of the cosmos and what time means.

Conan is funny and Shakira is Shakira.
