[SotW] Song of the Week - Qualification: Search for the Lost Riff

PLEASE ONLY VOTE IF YOU PARTICIPATE IN SONG OF THE WEEK

This is a poll on official policy, so I'd appreciate it if only people who vote and/or nominate vote on this matter. If I don't recognize your name, I won't count your vote with the final tally. Thanks in advance.

^ Totally just copy-pasted that header, even though this isn't really a policy decision.

Search for the Lost Riff
nominator: Darkcomet72

This track is by Andrew "Necros" Sega and Dan "Basehead" Grandpre/Gardopee. In addition to a bunch of demoscene material and original albums, they have the following VGM credits:

Necros
  • Iron Seed
  • Xixit (co-composed with Kenny Chow, Andrew Wise, and Jon Dal Kristbjornsson)
  • In Pursuit of Greed
  • Crusader: No Remorse (co-composed with Basehead)
  • Crusader: No Regret (co-composed with Basehead and Todd Parsons)
  • Unreal (one track; co-composed with Alexander Brandon and Michiel van den Bos)
  • Unreal Mission Pack: Return to Na Pali (co-composed with Alexander Brandon, Michiel van den Bos, Basehead, and Paul Schultz)
  • Unreal Tournament (co-composed with Tero Kostermaa, Basehead, Kai-Eerik Komppa, Alexander Brandon, Peter Hajba, and Michiel van den Bos)
  • FreeLancer (co-composed some music with James Hannigan; the "Visual Music," whatever that is [cutscenes?], was done by Tom Seufert, Cato, Kelly, Grinsfelder, and Kitajima)

Basehead
  • Crusader: No Remorse (co-composed with Necros)
  • Crusader: No Regret (co-composed with Necros and Todd Parsons)
  • Unreal Mission Pack: Return to Na Pali (co-composed with Alexander Brandon, Michiel van den Bos, Necros, and Paul Schultz)
  • Unreal Tournament (co-composed with Tero Kostermaa, Necros, Kai-Eerik Komppa, Alexander Brandon, Peter Hajba, and Michiel van den Bos)
  • Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense (co-composed with Alexander Brandon)
  • Deus Ex (two tracks; co-composed with Alexander Brandon and Michiel van den Bos)

Good enough to make this original work eligible? Vote y/n/dc now!

See here for brief previous discussion, and populate this thread with further discussion.

Seems like each of them has a substantial amount of games under their belts. I don't know of any cons in this qualification, so I'm going to say yes.

It's hard to say. They're all co-composition credits. I'm not sure how much of that actually translates out to having done professional work.

"Co-composed" doesn't equal "no composed". :-) Looks good to me. Count it.

Visibility bump.

Only nine votes so far. Although seven are for yes, and one of the big opponents of the track voted for "don't care." >_>
