Fantastic job you two. This definitely provides good compensation for the lack of soundtrack release at presence. I've been listening while doing my essay over the last hour or so. Unfortunately, Sharebee doesn't seem to process the mirror list for the fourth disc but I'll hope that's just a temporary thing.

Here's an alternate link for Disc 4: Opoona Gamerip Disc 4 (alternate link). The file is just a hair over 100MB, which might be why Sharebee is choking on it.

I've been (lurkily) following this whole Opoona thing, and while I'm not a Sakimoto fan, what I'm hearing about the music is pretty encouraging. I'll definitely be checking this out if I get the chance; thanks guys!

Thanks, orion (and squaretex!). Definitely gonna check this out.
Latest music rips (updated April 11, 2008):

Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?
Super Off-Road - SNES rock from the Follin bros.

Currently playing: Nothing

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

I'm not a Sakimoto fan either. The only thing of his I really *REALLY* liked was Final Fantasy Tactics (sorry - I don't dig FF12 much) and what little chiptune work of his exists (Check out my Bonk rip for Magical Quest - holy GAWD that thing sounds freaking awesome)

When Sakimoto goes for a melodic, catchy sound to his music - DAMN is it fun. Opoona seems to fall into this category and I gotta say its the first Sakimoto score I've liked in a long time. Totally digging this.

=) You've instilled more hope into me, Dubble. I have basically the exact same view on Sakimoto that you do; his catchy stuff is the best, the other stuff can potentially be pretty lame. 99% sure I'll like this one! =D

(Might check out your Bonk rip too, sometime~)

a humble mirror request for 4th part, I've been having problem to download it for some days (proxy problem). Pardon me if it's inappropriate.

The Mr. Methane CD, purchased over ebay for .01¢. Yeah, free shipping. This guy performs all sorts of neat stuff, including the doot doot, doot doot from the Blue Danube.

Allow me to share a track from this CD. Here ya go.
I think he should have paid you .01¢ instead.

I'm very heartened by the nice response. The music is certainly worth it in my opinion--the perfect Basiscape score for people who don't ordinarily like them, or for anyone looking for something a bit different.

Also, eriol, here's a new link for Disc 4: Opoona Game Rip Disc 4 (alternate alternate)

Big thanks to squaretex for providing the titles. And gratitude to orion for providing the tagged tracks. I'm grabbing it now!

Additional Spam:
P.S. I noticed that "112 Bonbon Battle 2.mp3" should be "113 Bonbon Battle 2.mp3"

Finally got around to listening to this today. I was amazed. This score is superb. Depending on Sakimoto's level of contribution, this could be my favourite soundtrack of "his". The light-hearted, atmospherically futuristic compositions are full of enthusiasm and compositional talent. I can't really say which are my favourite tracks, since all of them are so fantastic. My second favourite game score this year, after Soma Bringer.

Now that I think about it, I probably love what's going on in "Industrial Side of Lifeborn" (hell, all of the Lifeborn tracks) the most, but it's all bloody fantastic. Sounds like ambient techno music in places, which is <3.
