The dreaded nvlddmkm error
The dreaded nvlddmkm error. This happends to Vista users who run Nvidia cards.
before one says update or roll back drivers, trust me I've done that and more. I googled the issue and found it has happend to vista users with multiple Nvidia cards and have run across people claiming reasons from Ram to Drivers, to Vistas Fault to certain hardware configs cause this. I have noticed when rchanging vista Aero to home basic style it stops a lot of the freezes/ errors but not entirely. has any one delt with these random crashes durring gaming and found a fix? Thanks Cheers. |

Yes , ram is not faulty. That as well as things like over heating or power supply have been mentioned. I'm suprised not one person on this forum has had this issue.. Totaly amazed is an understatement. I was more or less curious versus seeking an answer ( mainly because the chances of that were very slim )
I may have to just deal with it and go back to XP, here I thought I had it fixed when I changed vid cards but its happend to all nvidia cards from the 6 to 8 series. Vista just sucks ( if you have an nvidia card ) or would that be nvidia sucking for incompaitable drivers. I just don't know who to blame. Cheers. |

actually, I've seen this issue. built my brother a new system, 32 bit vista with a 8800 gtx. he has that error regularly. yes, we checked ram and everything. from what I understand the problem is nvidia.
happens almost everytime he exits WoW or even during other games sometimes. btw, nvidia just released new drivers 2 days ago. hopefully it will help. Ciao. |

I've never experienced it in Vista x64 with my 8600GT. I also recommend not waiting for nVidia to release drivers and find them at the Drivers forum at Guru3d.. because those beta drivers are often made of lots of win (for most people).
Unfortunately, other issues that were entirely not nVidia's fault made me jump off Vista and go back to XP. Cheers. |
