Is my DVD drive region free?

Durrr, sorry for the stupid question but I have no idea how to interpret this. I downloaded DISC Info and opened the .exe file and was presented with this:

Now does this mean that it's unlocked, or that it simply hasn't locked in place yet? (If that makes sense) Also, if it isn't unlocked, then do you recommend DVD Region Killer? Cheers~

Cheers.

Look at the DVD drive's properties (via Device Manager or Hardware tab when you right-click the drive and select properties.)

The DVD Region tab tells you which region it's currently set to. You are usually allowed 5 changes.

Chances are you haven't set any. There's no need to set any unless you have problems playing back a DVD.

Ciao.

Ah, yeah, it's set to region 2 which is the region used over here I'm pretty sure. I'm thinking of buying some DVDs from overseas soon though, and it'd be really handy if I could just watch them on my computer no hassle. So, can anyone recommend any good region-free processes etc?

Thanks for the help, by the way!

Cheers.

I didn't even know we could get internet in Oz Trailers!

Spoiler:

It seems there is a roof blocking the internet satellite signals and shit. Trying to hide it from the police, perhaps?! (Australia is so silly lol)

Chances are if your drive won't play the movie, I think you can still rip it with something like DVD Decrypter. But then again, I've never tried, so... yeah. It's worth a try, though.

Ciao.
