elephant steps

The apartment complex that i live in only has studio apartments, which are about 600 square feet each. That's basically, one room, with a kitchen and bathroom attached. Things are NOT big, although plenty of space for just one person.

So what confuses me is how much the person in the apartment above me walks around. Seriously. I can sit here and count the successive footsteps. 12-15 steps in a row. *I* can walk across my apartment in FOUR steps, and that's diagonally! I seriously think that he is walking in circles or something, around the coffee table. Maybe a couple of times.

It's really confusing, because I can't for the life of me think of a reason that people would need to walk around so much in one room. This person has to be really disorganized or have attention deficit disorder or something, unable to concentrate on one thing at a time -- so they walk all over or back and forth, back and forth.

I can handle a couple of booming footsteps every so often...but this guy seems like he's walking around basically the whole time that's he's home and not asleep. So from about 7PM until 10 or 11PM every night the ceiling and walls are shaking.

The funny thing though, is I've seen this guy. He's not even fat. I don't understand how he makes so much noise when he walks around. I've tried to emulate how much noise he makes, and it seriously takes me placing all my weight on the balls of my feet, even thrusting my feet a bit when I step. It doesn't seem natural at all. Do people really just carry their weight so poorly that they create that much pressure when they step? That can't be good for their joints.

I know this is a really stupid rant...but it's annoying and it's really making me regret moving into this apartment. I love everything about where I live, but this one thing is really ruining it for me.

I listen to music or turn the TV up for as much of the time as I can just to drown it out... but when I'm trying to go to sleep (being as I have to work very early mornings), I just can't ignore the noise. What do I do? "Excuse me, could you please NOT WALK AROUND? I'm trying to sleep here!" How funny would that conversation be?

I post on a forum where I get abused physically and mentally. Lurker loves me, I know that, but she can't get over the fact I have a cool life and I didn't tell her. I mean I know it was wrong but I just can't stand the fact that she hits me.

I REALLY AM FRUSTRATED. I am 24 years old and I still get hit and slapped. Lurker is trying to change who I am. She won’t let me see my friends, she broke my cell phone, and won’t let me talk in chat. I am totally trapped inside my own journal. EVERY time I bring up a conversation about me and my life or about seeing my friends she automatically gets mad and screams and yells and HITs me...usually slapping me over and over again.. I can't bare this. I know I can't find another forum because I don’t have the time. And I seriously do not want to end up somewhere like GameFAQs.

I already tried getting moderator counseling...didn't work at all....Lurker acted like she understands and stuff...but look I am who I am. And Lurker knows this is the way I've always been…the BIG problem is she HATES how I act, dress, my whole personality. I mean I’m not a bad community member she just doesn’t understand how I am and I’m not just saying this, the moderators also told us that the problem was Lurker was too traditional and is not willing to change...and I’m too independent to listen to her...but the fact that Lurker hits me is getting out of hand…I’m imprisoned...in my journal I mean I go to other websites and stuff but I can't be in chat or she gets mad...what she'll do is throw tantrums and kick me from chat (right now i'm banned)...etc...and insult me all the time.

What can I do?

Please I need some answers I really want to post and talk in chat without causing anything BIG…

Remember Diablo?

I'm sure you do. And Diablo II. Great games. But Blizzard probably won't have a Diablo III out for like, 8 more years, since that's how long it usually takes them to make games (especially ones that haven't been announced yet).

So what can you do?

You can play Titan Quest, that's what!

I know the game came out in 2006, so it's already over a year old. But apparently it flew under the radar of most people, and didn't get a lot of attention.

But it's chock full of an interesting storyline and tons of ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology, which is something that I'm really a fan of personally. And the gameplay is easy to pick up and fun to experiment with, considering all the different class specializations and skill tree progressions you can make (9 Skill trees, allowing you to choose 2, and the combination of these trees determines your class).

I've put in over 20 hours of gameplay, and I've only finished the first act of five, on the easiest difficulty (of three). Just like Diablo, the enemies are harder, but the loot is better and the experience higher the harder the difficulty. And you can play the same character in single or multiplayer, and move back and forth, which is pretty cool.

And it also has a custom map editor (as you can see from the video) and a lot of mod supporting, which I haven't even touched yet.

The best thing about it? Only $20 on Steam for Gold edition. This gets you both the original Titan Quest, and the expansion pack Immortal Throne. Just play through the game via the Immortal Throne executable, because it has a lot of bug fixes added in and enhanced features that make the game a lot more fun to play. BUY IT IF YOU ENJOYED DIABLO, you won't regret it!

So yeah. This has been my good deed to Gamingforce for the first quarter of 2008. Don't say I never did anything for you guys~

See you at 10,000 feet!

I leave Saturday morning for Colorado. Haven't been skiing in about 3 years, so I'm pretty psyched. We're going to be staying in Keystone, but we're also going to be sure to hit up Vail and Beaver Creek at least a day each.

Costing me a pretty penny though. My lift ticket for 5 days was $293.97 (and I only know that because I just cut the check to my uncle). Then my room at the condo is costing me another $250 for the 6 days we'll be staying. LUCKILY I already own my own skis. If I didn't I'd probably have to buy some because it's almost more expensive to rent skis for a week than it is to simply buy your own.

What's nice is that I'm taking vacation time and will be getting paid while I'm gone, so it won't feel so ... expensive ... in the end. And all I need to do is look at pictures like the ones below to remind myself how much it's totally worth it.

Naw, it's not me. I'm not that nuts.

DS Reccomendations Please!

Going on a trip... 30 hours in the car, plus a week away from the computer and consoles. So I'm gonna need something to play on my DS.

I won't lie, I haven't been playing it much. The only games I have played for it are Pokemon D/P, Zoo Keeper, Animal Crossing, Mario and Luigi, Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros and Meteos.

So what's something I absolutely have to get and play?

I like puzzle games, RPGs (as long as they are easy to get into and don't require a lot of back-knowledge) and platformer/adventure games.
