This is the scanlated version you're thinking of: ![]() Ciao. |
|
Downloading now.
It took me years to look into Azumanga Daioh! to see what the fuss was all about. Now that I'm happily married to Osaka, I didn't think to bother with Yotsuba. In fact, I always assumed it was some kind of doujinshi made by die-hard fans OF Azumanga Daioh!. So yeah, I'll give this a shot. I won't be marrying any six year old girls, though. Cheers. |
|
Yeah, please don't be marrying any six-year old girls. That'd be creepy.
However, DO please read the most heartwarming manga I've ever seen. Does it get any cuter? I don't think it does. I love in the "Global Warming" one where she runs back to her house and yells "I've misjudged you daddy!" Much lolin'. Ciao. |
|
Yotsuba isn't the only girl in the manga, you know. There are plenty of interesting and amusing older females in it too.
Who's the person who started the whole "*insert fictional character name here* is my wife" thing anyway? Ciao. |
|
It's generally very difficult to trace something back to its original beginning, especially if it's gotten popular, but not actually started, at 4chan. Case in point, when I tried to find out the real origin (and hopefully original screenshot) of the whole "im in ur base, killin ur doods" Starcraft (or is that Warcraft) thing. I got about a few dozen answers, all of them conflicting with the other, and none of them plausible enough.
And I'd naturally marry Fuuka~ Cheers. |
|
Don't deny that Asagi's where it's at!
Did I misread or something? So if I'm correct, then there are actually more than 26 chapters out, but they're not all translated yet? Also, is the English manga much farther behind than the scans? Cheers. |
|
Yeah, 5 volumes out in Japan so far. ADV has released volume 3, which ends at chapter 21, meaning the scanlated chapter 26 is some way in the middle of Volume 4. Momotato is working on the next batch of chapters (I think it was chapters 27-30 or maybe 27-32), but he's a bit busy with life, so it may take some more.
I had to leaf through my translated volume 3 for the chapter number, so I saw and was reminded of what happens in chapter 21. That scene of Yotsuba crying and telling her name in the middle of the crowd is such a heartbreaking moment. Yet you know it was necessary for her to learn even a little. It's one of the things I love about the series. There's just enough mischief to make it snappy (I feel so guilty for always laughing at the paper-scissors-stone match in chapter 22), and there are the moments when Yotsuba gets scared or hurt, just like children do, but it's mostly so warm and knowing. Ciao. |
|
Heh I agreed with that part where she's lost in the crowd. It was funny how after she just randomly yells that 'it's dangerous' to the nearby people.
I'm a sadist that likes the part where Miura wears the bird-scaring balloon over her head and everyone starts screaming in a chain reaction of events. Finally, would you slap me if I kissed you? |

I've read some of the Yotsuba&! manga in various anime magazines. I've wanted to pick up the series but no stores in my area carry them at the moment.
![]() Cheers. ![]()

Speaking of non-official Yotsuba anime:
![]() And hopefully everyone's seen the awesome Azumanga Yotsuba OP animation flash. Acer was kind enough to upload it for easier finding, be sure to save it for safekeeping immediately: http://www.acerbandit.net/flash/soramimiyotuba.swf Cheers. |
|
Wonderfully done! I really was convinced that Fuuka was just like Osaka and that Yotsuba was just like Chiyo throughout. It also was a lot better than the ordinary flash, in the sense that I was very close to being deceived into thinking I was watching an actual anime op.
Ciao. |
it's been out for a while over here and I still haven't bought it. I need to go pick up the first English volume of it and School Rumble. I haven't read it since last summer on Momotato. Ciao. |
|
Hooray, Yotsuba thriumphs again!
With all the boom lately, I started rereading Yotsuba again and by the gods this is as hilarious as ever. Thus Ava/Sig! I'll get back on this after going through it first~ my GOD I hadn't seen that Yotsubato OP Not only does it win worth tomorrow too, I managed to wake my parents with laughing x) Finally, would you slap me if I kissed you? ![]()

I just got finished reading through all of the scanalations, and I'm absolutely in love with Yotsuba.
Particularly the introduction to pants man (the rain) and the fireworks display "episodes". Heartwarming, cute stuff right there. Ciao. ![]() THIS IS ALL MAKING ME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE |
|
I'd never read manga before (well I don't read any comics or the such like really), so I will admit to being highly sceptical before hand. However, I love it to bits. I've not read anything that's put such a huge smile on my face for a while and this did just that every time. Abso-fucking-lutely brilliant. I want more damn it. >_<
Cheers. |

Hahaha! I just read Yotsuba & The TV, the one where Jumbo shows up. I was laughing throughout the entire thing, absolutely hysterical chapter.
GAOO! Also, Yotsuba & Shopping is a lot of fun too, though with no Jumbo (I think he might be my favorite character aside from Yotsuba herself... GAOOO!). The misadventures of this little girl are cute beyond words. Again, a huge thanks to all who promoted it. Ciao.

I'm still waiting for vol. 3, or a chance to buy it if it's already out. It's one of those mangas that you can just laugh and laugh and there's nothing dirty or sick about it (like Tenjho Tenge for example, which is funny, violent and full of sex).
I don't have a scan, but my favorite page was Spoiler:
Cheers. |

TSUKUTSUKU-BOUSHI!
As some of you may have already heard, chapters 27-30 are now out. I got mine from #lurk, but Face has been nice enough to upload the two packs to his server: http://f4c3.free.fr/Yotsubato_c27-28.rar http://f4c3.free.fr/Yotsubato_c29-30.zip Be sure to thank him. Anyway, I actually don't think these are Momotato's scanlations. Not only has he not updated his news at all about a release, and the typeset is completely different. It's good work anyway, so I highly recommend reading them, all four chapters are wonderful. Chapter 30, with Yanda's first appearance, is by far the most mischievious chapter so far, but I still couldn't contain my laughter, no matter how guilty I felt about it. Of course, after that you only need to reread chapter 27 again~ ![]() Ciao. |
