[Music] What's the name of that song?

Welcome back to the 'What's the name of that song?' thread, where you describe a song (by posting lyrics, sample of the song, etc.) that you don't know and your fellow GFF members try to help you figure out what it is. Make sure you give us as much info as you can so that we can help you out as much as possible.

I'll get things started with a song I don't know. It's the song that was used for The Shield season 5 promos that were shown before the season aired, and I also heard it towards the end of Smallville season 3 episode 8, "Shattered". It's lyrics are something like "I hurt myself today/To see if I still feel". The guy who sings it sounds familiar to me, but I can't pinpoint his voice (I probably feel stupid once I found out who it is).
You have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably.

It's Hurt. Either by Trent Reznor (NIN) or Johnny Cash (this should be the choice, as it is a superior song.)

Here is what I believe is the paradigm that would be effective and what I would love to see, and you're going to laugh because Fox News is my model. What Fox has done is they've got a guy, Roger Ailes, who's passionate and has created a model for a 24-hour news station that makes money based on a point of view... Using Fox's model, find someone with the passion and the huevos to just lay it on the line - not in a partisan way, not in the pursuit of political power and political gain, but in the pursuit of credibility. In the pursuit of being a judge, an arbiter, and earning the trust of the audience over time as an oversight to the shenanigans of the political world.

Yeah, I definitely think the version I heard was by Johnny Cash (I knew the voice sounded familiar). Thanks!

Okay, I have one that's been bugging me -- but I don't think anyone outside of the Concert Hall will probably know it.

If you can recall the "Got Milk?" ads within the last two years, there was one that just had pictures of X-rays on the screen, coupled with a classical piece that sounded like a clarinet solo. I *loved* that solo (it could have been oboe, but I'm pretty sure it was clarinet), and I would like to know if it was a concerto movement or just a solo part in a larger piece.

I may or may not feel stupid about not knowing this...commercials tend to use rather overused, famous classical pieces. I probably should know this. But I don't.

Can't name that one, but does anyone know the name of the song from the credits of The Matrix: Revolutions? I like that song, but I can't figure out what it's called, anyone know?

I just saw the movie Doom last nite and even though it was some what dissapointing the occasional heavy rock guitar riffs and drums would kick in. Does anyone know if these were samples of full songs? Or were they just little rifsf put in to satisfy the action? If they are of full songs anyone know by who? I wasn't able to see the credits .

Ok.. i have another. I was watching the Parent Trap (the new version with Lindsay Lohan) because my lil bro was watching it. And a song (nice acoustic guitar.. maybe classical) played when Halie had gone back to London and she was pulling up to her mother's home. Anyone know what it is?

I'm looking for a specific song but it's not something you hear everyday. The type of songs I'm looking for is like a patriotic theme. For example, in the movie "Independence Day" they have "American" victory patriotic style music. These kinds of songs usually have trumpets and violins. Another movie that I can think of that uses this kind of music is the movie "Glory". I also think they used one or two of these kind of songs in the movie "Air Force One"

I konw some movies make their own music but I'm looking for the most commonly used songs. I mean there has to be a few songs that are used in multiple movies. Those are the ones I'm looking for. I would think that they're of classical genre.

This one might be a bit hard....I was watching TV the other day and heard a song in a car commercial....Its a Nissan car...it features a yellow...mini-van(?) at the end it says...shift_fashion....and a girl walks of blowing a yellow buuble...The song in the backgrouns..i think was I just can`t get enough..but its a remix...I`m not sure is only here in Japan...Anybody know who did this remix?

EDIT:
got it already....the song is a remix of the old version of I just can't get enough arranged bt Vincent Clarke and sung by Nina Madhoo

EDIT:
errr..this is a bit harder...I heard this song in a shop....it was like some sort of club song..the type that seems as if the track hasn't changed....the only line I could hear was "I see the future in your eyes" and something like "take me away"....its sung by a woman..her style kinda remind me of Moony but the song's singer voice had a different sound...

from the makers of Death Note!! Bakuman.
Am happy..because AgitoXIII and Parasite Eve 3 is a comin to the PSP!!

What's the name of that song?

Hey, don't know if this is the correct forum...

http://www.planetvids.com/html/Hot-Karate-Girl.html <--- It's definitely not porno, and it's pretty arguable if hot is the correct word, but anwyays, can someone name me the song played at the beginning (and perhaps throughout) of the video? I've had this song stuck in my head now for many many years and STILL can't name it.

Thanks!

Sorry!
The backup "dancers" and the fancy kata make the video pretty neat to watch though.

I usually go here:

http://www.letssingit.com

Very helpful if you know a line or two from the song, and can't wait until you get a response on the board as to what it is. ^_^. Be warned, however, the pop-ups can be kind of obnoxious if you're not blocking them.
