KEANU REEVES as the SILVER SURFER

Keanu Reeves will likely star as the Silver Surfer in a feature film, whose character will be introduced in the sequel to Fantastic Four 2.

Supposedly, a leaked casting call also confirmed that the sequel will involve Silver Surfer and Galactus, devourer of nerds.

He was already in that surfing movie, so he's good for the part.

I didn't enjoy Fantastic Four too much, hopefully this will be better. But why use such a minor Marvel character like silver surfer?

WTF?! Yeah, let's get a serious emotionally-withdrawn individual to play a serious emotionally-withdrawn character. That's not acting. And the Surfer is supposed to be muscular and be quite intelligent... problem solving and all that. Sure, let's get Keanu Reeves. Because every person's dream is to that man with a bald cap on his head and covered head-to-toe in silver paint.

I don't think Keanu Reeves is a bad actor. I don't know why anyone thinks so. I don't think he's emotionally withdrawn; I think his deep, dopey, monotone voice makes him sometimes seem that way. Surely he's not a great actor; I find him to be rather average. But people always immediately pick on him and never seem to pick on all the other shitty actors. It's always, "Keanu Reeves was in a movie, lol."

Oh yeah, Marvel movies usually suck, this trend wasn't so apparent around the times of Spiderman, but now the trend is very well defined.

Man, another Fantastic Four? The first one was awful. I guess it must have somehow made a profit.

I guess he's good for the part. His body kind of looks like Silver Surfer and his face reminds me of him too.

That's funny, Silver Surfer - to me - always looked like a generic male human traced out of a Figure Drawing book, and then colored all shiny-like.

I don't think anyone really looks like him.

Considering the Silver Surfer is one of the most complex, well written comic-book characters ever, I highly doubt Keanu Reeves would be able to do justice to the role in any way possible.

Honestly, you need someone who sounds INTELLIGENT to be the Silver Surfer, not a surfer dude.

I can't think of a better casting off the top of my head (Looks are pretty moot for the Surfer, so it's more about acting ability.), but this is a major mistake.

Vin Diesel is a little too large for the part, methinks. Someone like Paul Walker could probably do the Surfer a bit more justice, not that Paul Walker is a good actor. He's got the body, though, and more talent than Reeves.

Because people will never take him seriously from his role as Ted "Theodore" Logan. Just like many people look at the Rock and automatically dismiss his as an actor, because he's a wrestler.

If anyone has any doubts of Keanu's acting, they need to watch The Gift. He fucking scared me in that movie, because that's how a damn down south redneck acts. whew.

As for him being the Silver Surfer, "woah".

I can see it, actually. Even though I never finished watching Fantastic Four (it felt long and drawn out) there's always hope that this one will be better.

Well, thank you for this public announcement of movies we need to avoid. You may have saved my very soul here.

AintItCool is well-known for reporting huge amounts of bullshit. Anyone remember the "confirmed announcement" that Jack Black was going to be Green Lantern?

Also: Anyone who agrees or likes Megalith should enjoy felching his load out of VG's puckered cornhole

Keanu Reeves is already stereotyped as a wooden surfer dude. Figures that he's eventually end up playing a wooden surfer dude if any of this is true.

He'd have to bulk up somewhat for the role though I'd imagine.
