Selling comic books

I need help on this because I've never sold any before. I'm not talking about just going on ebay and selling them. I'm talking about finding out the worth of each comic and then selling it.

So, I have this nice pile of Star Trek~TNG comic, along with some of the Star Trek movie comics. All of those are in good condition. I also have the Superman comic where he died with all the extra stuff that came with it. However, I have a few that I've had since a child, like my ALF comic, that's all basically beaten up (hey, I was a child!). How do I find out the worth of these comics and what's the best way to sell them?

If you search online, you should be able to get an estimate of what each is worth. Then you have to figure out the grade of your comic. Many comic book shops have that service.

So basically, try to find a good comic book shop near you.

Only comics from the 1960s and before will gain big bucks, so don't expect comics from your childhood to rake in triple-digit bids. For example, the most you're going to get from Superman #75 in likely condition is five bucks.

For grading or determining how much your comics is worth, the best site would be this: http://www.cgccomics.com/

As for selling them, the best thing you can do is to sell them at Comic Conventions since you can kind of auction it to different buyers depending on how much they want to buy your stuff. Or you can try eBay. Or contact your local comics shop.

Just go buy an issue of Wizard and use the price guide. Or (probably a more accurate source) go buy an Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide (available at your local bookstore!).

GI Joe is the codename for America's highly trained special mission force. Its purpose: to defend human freedom against COBRA. A ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

Wizard is a pretty good source for prices, but there are some better online sites with way more prices that you can get in a copy of Wizard. Just do a couple of google searchs and you'll be able to find an average price. As for selling, the best places are Comic shops and conventions. You can locate a comic shop near you via this site: http://csls.diamondcomics.com/ Hopefully you'll have more than one so you can shop around for whole will give you the best price.

I generally check with www.comicspriceguide.com for estimates on what my stash is worth.
