It's Philly. What did you expect?

Anyway, what an awesome game. Everyone looked great*, especially Fleury who had the game of his career. Really looking forward to the rest of this season.

I hastily made up the new jersey bars for Anaheim and Buffalo just now, in about 30 minutes. They're not excellent but they're about what I was aiming for. Months of downtime in Photoshop will do that.

The old ones are still there...just add "old" to the end of the filename (before the .jpg).

what in the hell is going on with Carolina? Three games straight... all losses? Are they even trying to defend their title? Some have been close and tonights loss against Washington wasn't close...

BTW: thanks dopefish for at least updating the two teams with new jerseys...

The only game that was close was opening night against the SABRESSSSSSSS. Because we actually showed up.

In the past two games we haven't put forth a 60 minute effort. Hell last night we only played for maybe 5 minutes in the second period.

I dunno, i'm not gonna get bent out of shape about it during the first week of the season. Points count the same now as they do in March, but I do hope we get a win soon.

Sucks that the Pens lost to the Wings too. They played a solid game and Fleury was solid in goal yet again, they just had trouble getting past the Wings defense. I think if they keep it up they are gonna be a tough team to play against in the east this year, especially when Malkin returns.

The Pens offense had absolutely no flow going in that game. We would never seem to be able to hold it in the offensive zone, even on powerplays. I don't know if it was the Pens' offense or the Wings' defense, but we didn't look good at all.

Still, it's only one game and Fleury looked pretty damn good, again. Through two games it looks like we might have a contender on our hands.

I think it was the Wings defense. They just shutdown every chance available. Even though we did have a couple chances to tie it up (ie Eckmans tip off the crossbar)

It's only one game though and it's against a western team. No biggie. However I do think the second line is pathetic. I can't wait until Malkin get's back to 100% because when he does, you might as well push Leclair to the 4th line.

The second line has got to be the slowest line in the NHL, at the moment. It's just sad watching them.

Good, good for the Sabres. Since they will be about 100 steps ahead of them.

Anyway 82-0 comin. Except I don't like this 5 day break shit. Play saturday and then don't play until Friday.

(Kavanaugh hands out a piece of gum) Aceveda: No thank you. Kavanaugh: Nah come on this is a fresh pack, it's Juicy Fruit. (Aceveda stares at him for three seconds...)Aceveda: I said no...thank you. (holds it out still) Kavanaugh: hold this out long enough some people feel compelled to take the gum, it's a sign they'll crack under pressure. Aceveda: (with a smug look) I know. - The Shield

Glad to see Detroit's defense doing so well already. I'm feeling realy iffy about how long Hasek will hold up this year, so seeing the defense working well is reassuring.

Anaheim has one of those long breaks coming up this week to. They play Wednesday and then nothing until Sunday. Not pleased about having too much time off between games. Anything over three days and you're running a risk of feeling rusty in the first game back... though the rest of Anaheim's schedule doesn't look too bad for the rest of the season.

Oh well... will be at the game in about four hours... sitting a few rows above the tunnel for the Ducks. Here's to hoping for a good game tonight ^_^

Enjoy the time off while you can get it man, players in the western conference especially get worn down due to the ridiculous travel involved. My team, for example, has ten of its first fourteen games on the road.

The city of Fourside has developed quite a bit since Mr. Geldegarde Monotoli hit the big time.

Damn! Colombus is really surprising me this year. I'll admit they added some pretty good players to their line-up in the off-season but I didn't think they would do that good, especially tonight.

And my habs are doing great too hehe.

Niekon, three days is not comparable to five days. You could say they are close but not really.

Without Marc Crawford in the bench for Vancouver this year, I don't know how they are going to do.

I just hope they make the playoffs this year. Doing ok so far. Let's hope they maintain momentum this year right up until the playoffs. They have a tendency of getting lazy near the end...

I like how the girl on the far left seems to have no clue whatsoever what's going on around her from the look on her face.

I can't really comment on the last sens game because I was out of town, without a TV and I missed it. It's a shame we lost, hopefully we'll do better next time. I must say that I was impressed with Luongo in that shoot out vs. the Wild. That was an amazing save, it's unfortunate they lost like that though.

It's been good for the city.

Without the most overrated coach in NHL history behind our bench, we're gonna do a hell of a lot better than we have with him and his love affair with one of the worst goalies in the league in Dan Cloutier.

We actually have a system now, which we didn't appear to under Crawford. Players seem motivated, and are actually hustling, which they didn't under Crawford, either. We appeared to get lazy near the end because Crawford is garbage and couldn't keep the players motivated. LA could've had him and Cloutier both for free for all the good they were doing us.

The city of Fourside has developed quite a bit since Mr. Geldegarde Monotoli hit the big time.
