Question: My brother already has his XBox Live stuff set up for his profile. I want to create my own profile, but still use his XBox Live membership so I don't have to pay anything. Is this possible or do I just have to stick with using his profile to continue playing online games?

You have to continue using his account, or buy yourself a new one.

Yes you can have multiple profiles on one gamertag, good sir.

(Kavanaugh hands out a piece of gum) Aceveda: No thank you. Kavanaugh: Nah come on this is a fresh pack, it's Juicy Fruit. (Aceveda stares at him for three seconds...)Aceveda: I said no...thank you. (holds it out still) Kavanaugh: hold this out long enough some people feel compelled to take the gum, it's a sign they'll crack under pressure. Aceveda: (with a smug look) I know. - The Shield

Jon Kavanaugh: "He's just PISSING all over this department, and we're just supposed to lick it up! Do you like the way that tastes? (Lifts his hand up to his mouth) Because it tastes like.....PISS to me!" - The Shield

Oh. Sorry, what BZ said is right. I thought you meant that you wanted a seperate Live account.

While I'm on XBox Live though playing DOA4 for example, will my name show up or is it his that shows up when I'm playing other people?

Edit: Apparently, I can't do this. If I want to play online using my OWN name, I'd have to get another membership which sucks cuz I'd have to pay 60 bucks. Well, that's fine seeing as how I earned the grade on DOA4 all on my own. I'll add my brother's info later so you can add me on this thread.

The gamertag shows up, not the profile name.

When you have a gamertag, your gamertag always shows on live (nothing else). You can however load up a seperate profile, the name doesn't show up but the different "icon" chosen for that profile does.

Ok 2 days ago my bro got xbox live again for original xbox and started Halo 2 online again, worked that day and the next morning. He turned it off and went to school but when he came back it wouldnt connect, so we went to trouble shooter and it says it couldnt get the dns servers from the DHCP or something. So i enterd them in manually and it still doesnt connect. Its hooked through a router but so is my comp and my internet works just fine. We tried resetting the modem and turning the modem and router off and on and even changing rotuer slots for the ethernet but still get the same error. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

DNS can't be resolved?

1. Check to make sure all the connections are okay (no screwed up cables).
2. Make sure you have the minimum requirement to connect to live (128 kbps).
3. Make sure your router isn't on the list on xbox.com under routers that are known to have issues on live.
4. Check the router settings and put a DMZ setting on the Xbox IP.

Usually you can enter the IP of the router into a internet browser address bar and access a menu.

Not all routers are listed there, you also should check the list of routers that have issues with live, even if they connect.
